1 Product description Electrical pump VERSA III DESCRIPTION The VERSA III pump is an electrically operated gear pump intended for use in volumetric type (PDI) centralised lubrication systems. This compact unit comes with a 2L or 4L reservoir, has a low level switch and an oil pressure switch as standard. There is an optional controller version, designed to fully control the lubrication cycles within a PDI injector environment. Electrical connection is via M12x1 for quick and efficient installation. OPERATION When the pump is switched on, the 230V motor drives a gear pump, which delivers oil into the main distribution line. The pressure in the line will increase until ultimately it reaches system pressure at which point the integrated relief valve opens and prevents the pressure from increasing any further. During this period of pressure rise, the injectors in the distribution line will fire and eject a metered volume of oil to the appropriate lubrication point. Also, during this period, the pressure switch will close, providing a signal back to the pump. Depending on how the pump is configured, this pressure switch may be used to control the On- Time of the pump. Once the pump switches off, the distribution line pressure will be relieved through an integrated dump valve, enabling the injectors to reset.. 1 / 8 P_2009_10_VERSA III _GB

Mode d2 is the appropriate mode for these Versa III units, while d1 may also be used simply as a timer. Mode Description Setting Explanation d1 Time Control Pump-On Time (seconds) Pump runs for user-set on-time. d2 Pressure Switch Control (used for PDI systems) Pressure Switch Fault Time (seconds) Pump runs until pressure switch signals. Continues to run for a further 4 seconds. Pump will fault if no pressure switch signal is received within the user-set fault time. d3 Cycle Control (used for Progressive systems) No. Of Cycles Pump runs for a user-set no.of cycles, each cycle determined by a cycle switch signal. Pump will fault if time between any 2 cycles is greater than 5 minutes. d4 Pulse Control (used for Solenoid Operated Pumps) No. Of Pulses Pulse On-Time Pulse Off-Time Pump pulses on and off based on user-set pulse on and pulse off times. Pump continues to run until no. of user-set pulses is reached. Programming of the controller is achieved using a 4-digit LED display and 4 soft function keys. Press S and R simultaneously to begin programming. Select Operating Mode (as described above) using the key to change between options and S to select the option. Proceed to set up the various pump on-time and pump off-time parameters as described in the chart below. Use the key to change the number and to move across the display. Press R to save all the data and start the system or Press S to go back and make further changes. Running the Controller Press R to set the system at any time. Controller will begin with a new cycle.
