1 Versa II SLR Lubricator With Controller General The Versa II SLR Lubricator is an automatic, robust and durable pump that can handle oil. Its compact size is designed to fit your space requirements and lubrication demands. The Versa II SLR Lubricator is a self-contained electric motor-driven gear pump that can adapt to a broad range of production machinery. It can handle resistance fittings or resistance fittings groups serving up to 00 lubrication points. Scheme has similarities with common mode, in that either low level or pressure switch will operate a relay. However, in common mode both relays are operated simultaneously with K0 energizing on start-up. For example, in 9349 lubricator, K0 will energise on start-up and de-energise on fault or power loss. K0 will energise on fault. In 395 lubricator, Scheme energizes K3 on start-up and energizes K on either low level or pressure fault. K3 will de-energise on power loss. Battery Back-up Yes. 3 Operation Lubricator Refer to the following Operators Manual for complete operation of this controller: Operators Manual #3546: SureFire Controller Supplement M psi 75 psi 450µ 60µ VERSA II LUBRICATOR (PART #395) The lubricator pumps oil through the main circuit at a flow rate of 0cc/min. With the bypass closed, this oil is fed to the various lubrication points in the circuit. The relief valve will prevent the pressure from rising above 75 psi (300 psi for 395A) in this main line. By opening the bypass, the flow rate through the main line is reduced thus causing the pressure to drop in the circuit. By carefully adjusting the bypass, the user may set the required operating pressure in the system. The pump will run for a preset on time and then enter a preset off period. Once the preset time or preset number of events has elapsed, the controller will begin again with a new motor-on cycle. Should a low level switch be detected at any time, the controller will fault, display a fault on the screen and operate a relay in accordance with a preset programmed scheme. Controller This lubricator is fitted with a micro-processor based controller. The current software version of the controller will be displayed when the unit is powered on. As of December 008, this version is 3.0. There are modes of operation currently in the software, namely timer and controller. Although this lubricator is used for SLR applications and consequently does not have a pressure switch, it is recommended that the user selects controller mode. In this mode the motor-off time can either be time based or event based. The pressure switch should be disabled as described below and the on time set in the set motor hold time screen. 3

4 Start Up Instructions The following sections guide the user through the essentials of setting up the lubricator. These include setting the motor-on time, configuring and setting the motor-off period, configuring the fault relays and determining how the lubricator should behave recovering from a power loss situation. Make sure that the oil pressure switch is disabled before start up. Setting Motor-On Time This particular example shows a motor on time of 0 seconds. (AFTER P SWITCH) 00:00:0 Setting Motor-Off Time The motor-off time may be either based on time or events. For time, the user simply sets the off time using the up and down arrow keys, followed by the asterisk key. For events, the user sets the number of events to count before turning on the motor again. Additionally, in event mode, the user may choose to enable the watchdog which will signal a fault should the set time elapse between consecutive event counts. 5 Configuring the Fault Relays Continuing from the previous screens the fault relays are configured in the next screen: RELAY MONITORING IS SCHEME Some of these relays have no functions in different schemes as they relate to oil pressure or air pressure faults, both of which are disabled in this lubricator. User may choose Scheme, Scheme, or Scheme 3. Oil pressure switch should be disabled in the software. For example, should the user choose Scheme, then K will energise in the event of a fault in either low level or watchdog. K will have no function, as the liquid level switch is a single position switch and does not provide a warning level. K3 will energise when power is supplied to the pump, and deenergise when power is disconnected from the pump, this offering a power monitoring feature. All faults picked up by the controller will disable the pump and will need to be manually reset to re-enable the pump. The default relay contacts on the terminal strip are K n/c, K n/c and K3 n/o. These may be reversed individually by rewiring to the appropriately marked screw terminal on the main controller board. Configuring the Lubricator in a Power Loss Situation Navigate through to the screen below. This screen allows you to select 3 different ways for the lubricator to behave in the event of a power interruption. WHEN POWER IS RESTORED CNTROLER WILL BEGIN CYCLE Power Loss Mode Begin cycle 5 Resume Pause 3 Description Instructs the lubricator to begin a new cycle when power is restored. A new cycle always commences with motor-on. Instructs the lubricator to return to the program exactly at the point where it left off, when power is restored (assuming motor was in an off period). If motor was in an on period, (controller mode) then it will return to the start of this cycle. Instructs the lubricator to remain at the home screen when power is restored. Manual intervention must be made to resume. Should the controller be accidentally left unattended in the middle of a programming screen, then there is a time-out facility which operates as follows: Last selected power loss mode, the controller will revert after min. to the beginning of a new cycle. Last setting saved, the controller would revert back to the point in the program where it was interrupted, after min. 3 Last chosen setting, the controller would simply time out of the programming screen after min. and remain at the home screen indefinitely.
