Our suppliers are generally Italian or European ones. Do we have to ask for a deviation immediately or upon receipt of the order? At paragraph 5.2 of doc Rev.B it is mentioned that...<<no intermediate circumferential welds shall be permitted>>... Considering the design conditions and the required barrel diameters, we think to use a rolled plate longitudinally and circumferentially welded. Such welds would be 100% radiographed and if required UT tested. Such procedure has been usually employed for our customers all over the world and for vessels having sizes/design pressure equal or higher than the required ones. The material you mentioned is API 5L-X70. Such material is not so easy to find on the market and in case of no availability at the time of manufacturing we'd suggest to use API 5L-X60 giving the internal diameter of the minor barrel equal to the internal diameter of the pipeline. Butt welded joints between materials with different mechanical characteristics and unequal thickness is allowed by ASME B 31.8 s certification in accordance with EN C is required. EN 10204:2004 code foresees the certification type 3.2 which replaces type 3.1.A and 3.1.C of EN 10204:1991. In EN 10204:1991 it is mentioned certification type 3.2 but not type 3.2.C. Please clarify. Clarifications The bidder shall submit PTR of sub-vendor's for review of owner / owner s representative if he intends to source from any other vendor mentioned in the list.
