June 3rd-5th-Reno MCA Magic of the Mustang Show June 18th Mustangs and Fords at the Marriott XX SAMC at 66th Autorama The 66th Sacramento Autorama was held at Cal Expo on February 12th-14th, SAMC participated in the Club House display with nine Mustangs proudly presented to the public. Special thanks goes to Ron Bramlett, Dave Slayton, Traci Thaler, Fran & Fran, Tim Toy, Ron Hug, Rod Ruggles, Todd Bull & Patty Caprio, and Mick Dadisman for preparing ponies for the big show. Hundreds of visitors viewed our display. Many stopped to chat about long lost Mustangs from years past. Others proudly shared about Mustangs still in the stable. Many questions were asked and answered about the cars and our club. Hundreds of copies of the Mustangs and Fords at the Marriott flyers were distributed. On Saturday evening a band played in the Club House. SAMC selected a red Mustang coupe owned by Mr. Chin as the best Mustang on display from other clubs. Vice-President Dave Slayton made the proclamation during the evenings award ceremony. Several club members had their picture with Dave Kindig of Bitchin Rides. A good time was had by all and everyone agreed we should do it again at the 67th Sacramento Autorama. Photos & Story by Mick Dadisman.

Plenty of laughter reminiscing about 2015 was coupled with excitement about planned events for It was food and fun. Kevin Williams has held every position on the SAMC Board except Vice President. Cleanings from the Stable This is the last feature I have to complete for the January / February From the Horse s Mouth SAMC newsletter. Please accept my apology for it s tardiness. I was absorbed in creating the Mustangs and Fords at the Marriott XX poster and registration sheet. It s hard for me to believe that 8 months ago my wife Patty and I only knew a few members in the club from our first tour. A year ago I was pushing Ernie Smith at ET Muscle Cars to finish the restoration of our 1968 Mustang because I wanted to stick it to a former member. I had carried around a strong dislike for this person for six years and I was itching for some payback. Then something special happened. Patty and I met up with some of those members we still knew. Kevin and Vic independently spent significant time complimenting us on our Mustang and they were genuinely By Todd Bull FTHM Editor happy to see us. They both asked us to rejoin SAMC. Their kindness and positive enthusiasm was counter to my expectations. Of course winning two trophies at the 2015 Mustangs and Fords at the Marriott made the day even sweeter. Vic and Kevin demonstrated by their actions the SAMC Creed (see page 4) What does matter, is that we all are pointed in the same direction. There shall be no idle complaints about other members. The motivation must be for us to succeed as a group. Eight months later we re woven in the fabric of SAMC. I m working on the newsletter and helping with publicity. I ve taken on the role of Events Coordinator. Patty enthusiastically participates in club events, except for meetings. She s never liked meetings. Our renaissance started with two long time club members reaching out to say It s good to see you. Please consider coming back. Thanks guys! A pancake breakfast, classic car show, striking scenery, lots of laughs and smiles followed. It doesn t matter if you have a 64 1/2 or a modified late model Mustang. It doesn t matter if your car is concourse quality or marred with rock chips. SAMC ROAD TRIP Dues are due Per Sacramento Area Mustang Club bylaws and policies yearly membership dues are payable at the beginning on the SAMC fiscal year which is January 1st each year. Primary Members costs $ Associate members are family members or significant others of the primary member and they cost $ A completed club application form must accompany the dues. A member can be expelled from the club if they are 60 days past due on submission of their yearly dues. Get your checks filled out and your application submitted to SAMC treasurer Cindy Lenz. The Gold Show Sponsors are set but we have many sponsorships left to land and goodie bag gifts to gather. This is our major fundraiser of the year so please all hands on deck. Update: Mustangs and Fords at the Marriott xx Marcia Beisner Memorial On Sunday, February 21st, 2016 a memorial service was held for Marcia Beisner at her daughter Sandy Armstrong s home in Loomis California. A group of SAMC members paying their respects to the Beisner family attended the memorial. Marcia and her late husband Big Jim Beisner where among the founding group of the Sacramento Area Mustang Club in June The Beisner s had a Wimbledon White 1966 Fastback that Jim took great pride in sharing with others. Jim was a magnificent cabinet maker and woodworker who even made wood plagues for SAMC activities. Marcia and Jim were big supporter s of SAMC which recently learned Marcia had lost her battle with cancer. The news was shared with club members at the February 17th General Meeting. As is the SAMC tradition members donated money at the General Meeting which was matched by SAMC. In lieu of flowers, a donation of $ was sent to the American Cancer Society office in Sacramento in Marcia Beisner s name. It was requested the donation be used for cancer research.
