4 Replacing the Rotor Assembly 2 Sirona KaVo W&H Bien Air NSK Mach Sirona KaVo W&H Bien Air NSK Mach NSK QD (T3 Racer) Sirona KaVo W&H Bien Air NSK NSK QD (T3 mini) 1. Grasp the pressure cover with the matching recess of key A; unscrew and remove cover. Remove the defective rotor assembly. Remove O-rings 72/72a from cover and housing (tweezers, probe). The housing of the turbine head must be clean, remove dirt and bearing residue if necessary. Please clean using only T1 Spray. With each rotor change, basically both O-rings must be exchanged! The two new O-rings must not be inserted twisted. To insert the new O-ring in the turbine head housing you must first attach the guide bush supplied FB in the turbine head housing. 5 Replacing the Rotor Assembly 2. Carefully insert the new rotor assembly in the cover. Screw cover with rotor assembly into turbine head by hand and screw it tight with the prescribed tool A. A ( ) ATTENTION! Otherwise there is a danger of the cover coming undone, thus allowing the rotor and the drilling instrument to fall into the patient s throat. Then spray for one second. 3. Clamp FG instrument and stabilize it in the O-ring seats by rotating and pulling the rotor assembly. Let turbine run briefly without cooling spray. Turbines T2 / T3 (CONTROL / Racer / mini) D

7 Replacing the Spray Cap Use the spray key K to unscrew the spray screw 252 counter-clockwise and remove it. For turbines with FG chucks, use the end of the key with the thin guide shaft K.2. The end of the key with the thick guide shaft K.1 is used for motor-driven handpieces with a WB chuck. Then insert the extracting tool L in the spray cap 247. Pinch the extracting tool and pull the spray cap 247 out of the head. K K K.1 ATTENTION! Do not use O-ring and spray screw any more. Clean the chamber* in the head thoroughly. If necessary clean the air and water channels thoroughly but carefully with cleaning wires M. Then let the turbine run briefly with spray to rinse the (air and water) channels. M * 247 L Before inserting the new spray cap 247, you must slip an O-ring 251 onto it with the attachment sleeve N. This is done by inserting the spray cap in the attachment sleeve up to the stop and then sliding a new O-ring over the sleeve and onto the cap. ATTENTION! The O-ring 251 has not to damaged and must not come to lie in the ring groove**. Then spray the O-ring with T1 Spray, set the position of the spray nozzle(s) and insert the spray cap in the head. 9 Dismantling the coupling fitting according to Sirona Connection: Dismantling the coupling fitting 1. Unscrew the outer sleeve Remove the coupling fitting 302 from the frontpart of the turbine ATTENTION! Note the two balls 83 which belong to the lock-in mechanism and can fall out with the broken spring washer Loosen the centering disk 93 carefully with a screwdriver from the coupling fitting 302 and take it out. 10 Replacing the bill valve 5 1. It is recommended that the Centering disk and all O-rings 94/95 of the coupling fitting be replaced with each bill valve exchange. The bill valve 301 is located in the pipe extension behind the O-ring 95* and the vernay sleeve 300. Remove O-rings 94/95, vernay sleeve 300 and bill valve 301 with probe * Insert the new bill valve 301 using a twopart tool B. Insert B1 into the pipe extension until lokked in place. Slightly compress bill valve 301 and push outward with its nose in B1. With B2 hold nose tip and press valve until it locks in place. Slide in vernay sleeve 300. Press defective halogen lamp 281 from the back out of its socket. ** * 139 Insert new lamp 281 observe position of the contact surfaces! Wipe glass envelope with a clean cloth and insert lamp holder139 again. i NOTE: Before inserting a new lamp holder, remove the small web**. 281 Bien Air 2. Lift up lamp holder 162 at head end* and remove it. Pull defective halogen lamp 281 forward out of its socket. ** 281 * 162 Insert new lamp 281 observe position of the contact surfaces! Unscrew the screws 25 with a screwdriver and take them out Take out the coupling washer 20 and the support washer Pressing the light rod into the outer sleeve with the thump 5.1 (so that it will not be damaged by the outer edge of the outer sleeve) and take out the outer sleeve Take out the Spacer 30 carefully. 5. 13 For assembling the head housing use a magnifying glass with lamp. Assembling the head housing 8 ATTENTION! Note the putted in pin 40, it is used as anti-twist plate. 1. Put on the O-ring Put a lot of oil* on the light rod 10 and gasket-ring 15. Insert the light rod 10. Put the Gasket-ring 15 into the head housing and press through the light rod 10. Slide on the outer sleeve 5 up to the light rod 10. Mount the spacer 30 with the inner phase 30.1 onto the direction of the head. Press through the light rod 10 with the thump and push the outer sleeve 5 over the gasket-ring 15. Press the light rod 10 to front mm * ATTENTION! Don t damage the Gasket-ring 15, it has to fit even. 3. Slide on the coupling washer 20 and the support washer Fit the O-ring 45 on the outer sleeve 5. Fix screws 25 with Loctite 221** and insert at the wall end up to the head past spacer 30. Fixe the screws 25 by hand with a screwdriver ** Turbines T2 / T3 (CONTROL / Racer / mini) D

15 Functional inspection Inspect lock function of the turbine on the quick action coupling. 2. Test the retention force of the colletzlwkwrroc. The extraction force should not exceed 1FP. (Tool C displays this value when unscrewing from the collet via calibration marking). C ( ) 3. Clamp boring instrument and test speed with an input pressure of 2.7 bar: No-load speed: T2 CONTROL rpm-1 +20%, T2/T3 Racer and mini rpm-1 ±10%.
