1 Recommended Maintenance Procedures for the Cutters Edge MULTI-CUT 2100 Series Fire Rescue Saw

2 2 Outer section Adjustment Knob Remove and Clean ToolLess Guard/Depth Gauge Unscrew Adjustment Knob, remove Safety Pin and Lanyard and remove Outer Section.

3 3 Inner section Cleaning ToolLess Guard/Depth Gauge Remover Inner Section.

4 4 Cleaning ToolLess Guard/Depth Gauge Remove Inner Section by pulling upward and then wipe both sections clean, inside and out.

5 5 Mounting nuts Clean Clutch Cover Using the scrench tool, loosen two mounting nuts. Remove cover, chain and guide bar.

6 6 Inspect and clean cover of all dirt and debris inside and out

7 7 BULLET Chain Inspection Remove chain from Guide Bar and inspect closely. If six or more cutters have 50%+ carbide missing, or three cutters in a row are missing carbide, have chain repaired and sharpened. Even if no broken cutters are found, check to make sure cutters are not dull. A test cut is the only true way to determine chain s performance. Inspect Carbide on Cutters

8 8 Guide Bar Cleaning - Wipe debris front and back. Clean chain groove and use solvent to remove any tar or debris buildup.

9 9 Oil holes Depending on Your Bar Style Clean oil holes at bar mount end on both sides of bar. Newer style Bars have an integrated sprocket nose with sealed bearings and there will not be a hole to clean and lubricate.

10 10 If your Guide Bar has a lubrication hole lubricate sprocket-nose bearing with grease gun provided.

11 11 Power Head Clutch located behind Clutch Cover when Bar Nuts and Cover are removed. Wipe all debris and dirt from deflector plate and clean carefully around the clutch. Deflector Plate Clutch Cover

12 12 Oil slot Make sure oil slot is clean and open.

13 13 Cleaning Air Filters. Remove foam pre-wrap filter from Air Filter. Wash with soapy water and rinse with clean water and squeeze dry.

14 14 Check main filter element for debris buildup. Before removing, pull out choke to prevent dirt from entering carburetor. To remove main filter, loosen filter clamp with screw driver or scrench tool. Filter Clamp

15 15 Clean Main Filter with soapy water, rinse and let it dry thoroughly. Recoat outside only with filter oil provided. Do NOT spray oil inside filter element. Main Filter Filter Stack attached to Carburetor. Cover when filter is off so no debris can fall in.

16 16 Clean Cylinder Fins Open carburetor compartment latches 1 and 2 and remove compartment top. Loosen screws A, B and C and remove cylinder head cover. Cover Carburetor to prevent debris from falling in when cleaning fins. C A 1 B 2

17 17 Fins Check fins for tar and debris buildup and scrape clean or use solvent with wire brush.

18 18 Re-Assembly Guide Bar and BULLET Chain Make sure to flip Guide Bar each time you reassemble for best wear. Slide Guide Bar onto two bar mount studs. Two Mount Studs

19 19 Align chain so cutters point to tip of Guide Bar as they lay on top bar rail. Slip chain onto clutch sprocket rim then into Guide Bar groove. Pull chain around bar to check proper seating. Mount clutch cover onto mount studs.

20 20 Turn Tensioning Adjustment Screw to align chain adjustor pin with Guide Bar hole. When aligned, push cover in to seat fully. Install bar nuts finger tight. Tension Adjustment

21 21 Adjust Chain Tension Protect hand with glove or rag. Pull up on Guide Bar tip and tighten chain tension adjustment screw clockwise. Keep bar tip up and tighten two clutch cover nuts. Pull upwards on bar Tension Adjustment

22 22 Proper Chain Tension Chain should move along bar rails freely and be in full contact with bar bottom rails with no sag. Drive links should just clear rail when pulling down and should snap back into place.

23 23 Reinstall ToolLess Guard/Depth Gauge Place inner section over chain and Guide Bar, sliding mounting slots to locking key and mounting bolt on guard deflector. Push downward and lock into place. Place outer section onto Guide Bar and slide over inner section. Insert safety pin into hole on guard deflector. Insert Adjustment knob through slot in outer section and screw into threaded hole.

24 24 Final Maintenance Checks: Make sure all nuts and screws are tight Start and run saw briefly Shut off and refill all fluids
