Before installing accessory, carefully consider whether one possesses the necessary technical skills and workshop tools to complete the installation properly. Otherwise, your authorized Kawasaki Motorcycle Dealer will be glad to install this accessory.! To properly install this windshield, Kawasaki Motorcycle Service Manual (part no ) is required. Tool List for Windshield Assembly 4mm Hex Key 10mm Wrench or Socket Torque Wrench which measures 0-0 inch pounds Tool List for Windshield to Motorcycle Installation Pliers 5mm Hex Key 12mm Wrench Torque Wrench which measures 0 to 50 foot pounds Note: Right and Left of motorcycle is determined while sitting on motorcycle. Bend wire guide before removing from motorcycle PREPARATION 1. Cover front fender to avoid damage. 2. Before removing the existing hose and cable guide from the motorcycle, bend the wire loops as indicated to allow enough clearance for cables to slip through. (Pliers) Figure From the underside of the handlebar holders remove the flange nuts holding the cable guide in place. (mm Deep Socket) Figure Remove cables from wire loops. Place one plate gasket (10) to the inside of front horizontal

Place second plate gasket to inside surface of windshield

Position inside front horizontal plate (5) over gasket.

3 ASSEMBLE WINDSHIED Horizontal Plates 1. Install washers (13) onto screws (). Figure Place one plate gasket (10) to the inside of front horizontal plate (4). Figure Place second plate gasket to inside surface of windshield plastic. Position inside front horizontal plate (5) over gasket. From front side of windshield insert screw assemblies. Secure with 4 nuts (). Figure 6. Figure 4 Vertical Plates 1. Place outside vertical gasket (11) to outside right vertical plate (3). Insert screw assemblies from outside. Figure On inside of the windshield position inside vertical gasket (11) and right windshield stay (7). Secure with 2 nuts (). Figure and 9. Note: Orientation of inside gasket. Figure 5. Figure 5 3. Repeat for left side. 4. Use a torque wrench to tighten all screws to N.m. or in-lb!overtightening these screws may cause windshield to crack and such damage is not covered under the warranty. Insert brake hose first into guide loop (a) and then (b).

Install left side cables into left side guide loop.

Use the two mm flange nuts removed in preparation step three to install center

4 INSTALLATION Install center bracket 1. The guide at the center is used for for the brake hose only. Insert brake hose first into guide loop (a) and then (b). Next insert the throttle and electrical cables into (b). Figure 11 and 12. b a 2. Install left side cables into left side guide loop. Bend the guide loops closed (see diagram). 3. Use the two mm flange nuts removed in preparation step three to install center bracket under the handlebar risers. Tighten to N.m. or 1-25 ft-lb. (mm Deep Socket) Figure 13. 2. Position RH bracket over turn signal stay and install a x 30

At front of center bracket secure RH bracket to motorcycle with a x 16 screw ().

Tighten the two x 30 screws and the two x 16 screws to - N.m or 10-13.5 ft-lb (Torque Wrench). Install Windshield 1.

(5mm Hex Wrench). Figure 2. Install lower screws and nuts. Do not tighten. (5mm Hex Wrench). 3.

5 2. Position RH bracket over turn signal stay and install a x 30 screw (9). Repeat on opposite side. (5mm Hex Key) Figure. 3. At front of center bracket secure RH bracket to motorcycle with a x 16 screw (). Repeat steps two and three on opposite side of motorcycle. (5mm Hex Wrench) Figure. 4. Tighten the two x 30 screws and the two x 16 screws to - N.m or ft-lb (Torque Wrench). Install Windshield 1. Position windshield on motorcycle. At the top left and right mount points hold windshield in place with a x 16 screw and nut. (5mm Hex Wrench). Figure 2. Install lower screws and nuts. Do not tighten. (5mm Hex Wrench). 3. Adjust windshield height, move windshield upward on the windshield bracket. Figure Tighten all four screws to - N.m or ft-lb (Torque Wrench). Figure Figure 17 MAINTENANCE To clean, pre-rinse screen with water to remove grit and soften dirt. Use mild soap, lots of warm water, and a clean soft cloth or sponge. Rinse well to remove all soap residue. Pat dry, do not wipe dry. Figure 16 Page 5 of 5
