2 7. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 3. Thoroughly clean the front of the hood and raise the hood, as show n in figure. Figure. Cleaning hood areas 3 4. Note the two holes in the underside of the hood, as shown. Clean the hood lip above thes e holes with the alcohol wipe provided and wipe with a dry clean cloth, as shown in figure. Figure. 3. Insert these clips over the tape on the hood lip aligning the square hole in the clip with the round hole in the hood. Insert the round screw plug over the clip and in to the round hole in the hood and secure with the self tapping screw provided. Ensure the square boss on the screw plug sits in the square hole in the clip. NOTE : Failure to ensure that the clip rests on the abrasive resistant tape may result in permanent paint damage. of 5 Fit - HG88 /0/09

3 INNER WING CLIPS 5. Remove the backing from the rubber gasket and attach the gasket to the face of each inner wing clip. Figure Install the hood protector, aligning the appropriate slots in the hood protector with the holes in the inner wing clips. Note the underside hood area that corresponds to the center slots in the hood protector. Mark the center of these slots onto the underside of the hood with a pencil, as shown in figure 6. Remove the hood protector. Figure 6. Mark the center clip positions 3 7. Clean the hood lip at the marked locations with the alcohol wipe provided and wipe with a dry clean cloth. Adhere the abrasive resistant tapes to the hood lip as per figure 7; half on the underside and half on the top of the hood. Figure 7. Abrasive resistant tape installation ALIGN SLOT IN HOOD PROTECTOR WITH THREADED HOLE IN THE CLIP INNER WING CLIPS 8. Install the hood protec tor onto the hood and align the slots in the hood pr otector with the threaded holes in the inner wing clip s, as shown in figure 8. 4 ALIGN THREADED HOLE IN CLIP WITH SLOT IN HOOD PROTECTOR 9. Refit the hood protector. Temporarily secure the hood protector to the inner wing clips with the screws and washers provided. Do not tighten at this stage. Align the slots in the hood protector with the holes in the center metal clips. It may be necessary to slide the center clips into alignment. See figure 9. Figure Secure the hood protector to the center metal clips with the screws and washers provided, as shown in figure 0. Align hood protector centrally, then tighten the inner wing clip screws, and finally the center metal clip screws. NOTE: DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN SCREWS. Figure 0. Securing Hood Protector 3. At the outer wing clip locations, clean the areas with alcohol wipe provided and wipe with a dry clean cloth. Adhere the abrasive re sistant tape to the hood lip as per figure ; half on the underside and half on the top of the hood. Figure. WING CLIP. Lift the hood protecto r and slide the outer wing clips over the hood edge at the noted outer wing clip positions, as shown in figure. NOTE : Failure to ensure that the clip rests on the abrasive resistant tape may result in permanent paint damage. LIFT THE HOOD PROTECTOR WINGS Figure. 4 of 5 Fit - HG88 /0/09

5 3. Secure the hood protector to outer wing clips with the screws and clear plastic washers provided. Apply the chrome snap cap, as shown in figure 3. NOTE: DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN SCREWS. To Remove: Reverse the above procedure. Figure 3. Securing Hood Protector 5mm Figure 4. Attaching Extrusion 5mm 4. Clean the top section of the grille with the alcohol wipe provided. Wipe away any residue with a clean dry cloth. Peel approx. of tape liner from one end of the extrusion and adhere the extrusion 5mm in from the end of the grille, and 5mm out from the rear edge of the grille, as shown. Maintaining this 5mm distance, follow the shape of the grille and gradually remove the tape liner while adhering the extrusion to the grille. NOTE: DO NOT STRETCH THE EXTRUSION. Do not use power tools to install this product. The use of power tools during installation may void the product warranty. Do not slam hood. Clean Hood Protector with a mild detergent and water solution. Do not use abrasive cleaners. 5 of 5 Fit - HG88 /0/09
