2 Volume 38 Issue 12 Page 2 Minutes from the November Meeting (Submitted by Ted Fahrenthold) Meeting was opened at 2:00PM by Al Hilderbrand The Tybee island getaway was discussed. Those who attended said it was a very good time and suggested others try it next year. Dues are due. If you have not yet paid your dues for 2014 they are due by January. Meeting schedule and places were discussed. Christmas party on Dec 14 is Decembers meeting. It will be held at Norcross Station Café. January s meeting is the Helen show joint planning meeting. It will be held at Clay Grant s house on January 11 th. February s meeting should take place on the 16 th of February. A volunteer is needed to provide a place for this meeting. Volunteer your home? The March meeting is our spring swap meet and will be held at the Rudolph s home. Aprils event is of course the Helen Show. It was suggested and voting passed that the club will buy 10 magnetic Corvair Atlanta signs for use at events or by club members going to events. These signs may be borrowed by club members. Elections Tom Constantine was confirmed to continue as president for another year. Robert Birkinbine was nominated and elected to serve as next year s Vice President. Ted Fahrenthold was confirmed to continue as Secretary. Al Hilderbrand was confirmed to continue as Treasurer. John O Harra will continue to edit the newsletter. 3 Volume 38 Issue 12 Page 3 NEWS FLASH Ted Fahrenthold has returned to being self employed full time in the restoration business. After much consideration and 7 years of working for other people he decided to give it a go on his own again. He will be working from the shop behind his house with a focus on classic vehicle restoration and restoration of all things Corvair. He will consider repairs on late model vehicles on a case by case basis. Corvair work will involve all facets (body, interior, mechanical) of Corvair repair and restoration. This new business is titled Ted's Auto Restoration and Corvair Repair. You can see examples of his work and progress on current projects at Facebook.com/tedsautorestoration. 4 Volume 38 Issue 12 Page 4 Tybee Island Recap (Submitted by Al Hilderbrand) Paula and I attended the Tybee Island event this year and we had a great time. The official event was Nov 8th and 9th but Paula and I ventured down on the 7th as we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. The event is just for fun, bring a Corvair if you wanted and don't bring it if you didn't but come enjoy each other. It was a bit windy over the occasion but we had a blast anyway. We had dinner Saturday night at UNCLE BUBBA'S which is just over the bridge from Tybee in Savannah. One of the best meals we have ever had and priced very reasonable too. Can't tell you much more as "What Happens in Tybee Stays in Tybee". I will say the highlight of the weekend was when the front office called Friday night and said the other motel guests were complaining about what sounded to them like college kids partying and asked us to "Please Go to Bed".
