2 ReidBar TM Steel Components Overview ReidBar TM is a continuously threaded, hot rolled Grade 500E reinforcing bar that is manufactured in New Zealand in accordance to AS/NZS4671:2001. Its continuous thread feature allows ReidBar TM to be cut at any point along its length and screwed into one of the large variety of ReidBar TM components. This is a unique feature that provides designers and constructors with versatility in reinforcement placing and fixing, especially in response to the widely recognised reinforcement congestion issues due to lapped bar connections and hooked bar anchorages. The latest addition to the ReidBar family is the ReidBar Steel Components Product Range. The ReidBar TM Steel Components were developed specifically to meet the requirements of New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) Third Edition Bridge Manual, therefore enabling the use of this product range in a wide array of New Zealand civil and infrastructure projects. Some of the key features of the ReidBar TM Steel Components are: Tested to possess tensile strength of greater than 840MPa Tested to meet the ISO15835 criteria for large strains and fatigue* Tested to meet the Charpy V-Notch criteria as stipulated in AS1544.2:2003 *incorporating pre-applied filler, as discussed later in this guide Key Applications ReidBar TM Steel Components product range is suitable for use in most applications where lapped bar connections and hooked bar anchorages are present.
