Installation Guide CANMAX400 supports multiple data bus architectures including: CAN High speed, CAN Single Wire, CAN Fault Tolerant, GM-LAN, J1850, ISO, BEAN, FLEXRAY and more. CANMAX400 includes 2 additional "XPANSI" ports. The XKEY port securely docks XKEYS for RF transponder bypass when a data override is not possible. A relay XPANSI port supports the addition of an external relay pack for Remote Start Ready solutions. The 2nd generation XKLOADER2 is required for flashing CANMAX400. 9 Page 9 Module Programming For Intelli-Key models, the factory key FOB must be in the car in order to program the module. 1 Connect the 20-pin harness to the module. Caution! The 20-pin connector can be easily plugged in backwards. 20-pin 2 If connected in D2D: Connect the 4-pin D2D harness. If connected in W2W: Connect the 12-pin harness. 4-pin OR 12-pin 3 This important step must be done in a timely fashion: When all the connections are done correctly, the LED will turn solid RED for 10 seconds. You must insert and turn the key to the position, while the LED is. If the LED turns before you can turn the key, disconnect and reconnect the 4-pin or 12-pin harness and repeat step 3. Red x10 secs & KEY START Keyat while LED 4 5 The LED of the module will turn solid green. This can take up to 15 seconds. *If LED does not turn solid green, check all wiring and reset kit. Repeat steps 1 to 3. When the LED turns, the module is programmed. Solid Green Off Module Reset 1 Connect the 20-pin harness to the module. Caution! The 20-pin connector can be easily plugged in backwards. 20-pin 2 Press and hold the Programming button, then power the module: - D2D: connect the D2D cable; or, - W2W: connect the 12-pin harness. 3 When the LED turns orange, release the Programming button. Once the LED turns red, the module reset is complete. SOLID & & SOLID

The orange LED turns after 3 seconds. Release the IPB. - The green LED starts flashing slowly one time to indicate the feature number is 1. After a short delay, the red LED flashes rapidly one time to indicate the current option of feature 1. It repeats until next action happens. Accessing another feature - Press and release the IPB a number of times to advance from the current feature to the next desired feature. - The green LED flashes slowly the number of times equal to the feature number. After a short delay, the red LED flashes rapidly one time to indicate the current option of the current feature. It repeats until next action happens. Changing feature options - Press the arm or disarm button on aftermarket transmitter to change the option of the selected feature. - The red LED flashes rapidly the number of times equal to the current option number. After a short delay, the green LED flashes slowly the number of times to indicate the current feature. It repeats until next action happens. When the maximum number of feature or option is reached, the will LED starts flashing again from the first feature or option. Once a feature is programmed - Another feature(s) can be programmed. - The feature programming can be exited. Exiting feature programming - No activity for 30 seconds; after 30 seconds, the orange LED will turn for 2 seconds to indicate correct exit. OR - Press and HOLD the IPB for 3 seconds. After 3 seconds, the orange LED will turn for 2 seconds to indicate correct exit.
