7 Vehicle Type Programming Page 7 The interface kit is designed to operate on any one of 7 possible vehicle types. Once the 10-pin harness wires have been connected, the next step is to program the interface module to operate on the appropriate vehicle type. Refer to the Vehicle Application Guide on page 2 for more information on types. In W2W: Connect the 10-pin harness to the module. The LED will turn ON solid pin Solid Red In D2D: Connect the 10-pin harness, and then the D2D harness to the module. The LED will turn ON solid. 10-pin + D2D Solid Red 2 Insert the key into the ignition barrel and turn it to the ON position. The LED will turn OFF*, and then it will begin a flashing pattern that corresponds to the vehicle type selection. (The default vehicle type selection is 1.) *If the module has already been programmed to the vehicle, the LED will flash 4 times, in which case, skip to step 4. OFF ON START Key at ON Off Flashes 3 To change the vehicle type, press and release the Programming button until the LED flash pattern corresponds to the selected vehicle type. The LED flash pattern will match the selected vehicle type. For example: - 1 flash = Type 1-2 flashes = Type 2 Press Release Flashes 4 To save the vehicle type selection, press and hold the Programming button until the LED flashes rapidly*. * For GM vehicles (types 1 to 4), the LED will not flash; it will stay ON solid. You will need to use the key and start the vehicle to turn the LED OFF and complete the programming sequence. Press Hold Flashes The module is now programmed.

8 User Settings - Optional Programming Page 8 User modes are identified by a slow LED flashing pattern: 1 slow flash = Mode 1; 2 slow flashes = Mode 2, etc Turn the key to the OFF position, but leave it in the ignition barrel. To access User Modes: Press and hold the Programming button until the LED flashes rapidly, and then release the button. To select a Mode: Press and release the Programming button until the slow flashing pattern of the LED corresponds to the required Mode selection. For example: - 1 slow flash = Mode 1-2 slow flashes = Mode 2 To change the Mode Option: Press the LOCK or UNLOCK button the aftermarket transmitter until the quick flashing of the LED corresponds to the required Mode Option selection. For example: - 1 quick flash = Option 1-2 quick flashes = Option 2 Press Hold Press Release ( Flashes or Press OFF ON START Key at OFF Release ( Flashes Slowly Flashes Quickly To save and exit: 5 Press and hold the Programming button until the LED flashes once. Press Hold Flashes x1 Option List Mode Option * Default value. Description 1* 1st pulse - Unlock all doors. 2 1st pulse - Unlock driver door; 2nd pulse - Unlock all doors. 1* (Aux 1) Pink wire negative. 2 N/A 1* (Aux 2) Pink/White wire negative. 2 N/A 1* (Aux 2) Pink/White wire output (Type 4 only). 2 (Aux 2) Pink/White wire input. 1* Windows roll-up OFF. 2 Windows roll-up ON. 1* N/A 2 Reset mode with Unlock button.

9 Door Detection Notes Page 9 The module detects all door triggers through the data line. When it detects an open door, it sends a negative (-) pulse trigger on the Purple/White wire (Door Trigger Output). For vehicles in types 1 and 4, the front doors and rear hatch are ONLY monitored via the data line. However, the rear doors are triggered separately and are not monitored via the data line. These wires are usually found at the BCM (Body Control Module) or at the rear doors. LED Diagnostics and Troubleshooting LED Status Description Troubleshooting During Power Up Off Solid red Vehicle Type Programming x4 Off, then flashes Flashes x4 Flashes rapidly Solid red Module has no power. Module has power (the 10-pin harness was connected). Flashing pattern that corresponds to the vehicle type selection. Module has already been programmed to this vehicle. Vehicle type selection has been saved. Vehicle type selection has been saved. Make sure the D2D harness is connected or the 12V is present between the red and black wires. Skip to step 4 of the Vehicle Type Programming procedure to save the selection. User Settings - Optional Programming Flashes rapidly To access User Modes. Slow flashing pattern Flashing pattern that corresponds to the mode selection. Quick flashing Flashing pattern that corresponds to pattern the option selection. x1 Flashes once User Settings have been saved and programming exited. Normal Operation Solid red GWR is now active. x1 Flashes once An input trigger was detected on the module. In step 4 of the Vehicle Type Programming: on GM vehicles (types 1 to 4), the LED will not flash; it will stay solid red. You will need to use the key and start the vehicle to turn the LED off and complete the programming sequence.
