2 2 of 4 4/29/2008 9:59 PM Soft top open Screws screw out (fig. 1, item 1) Gasket on B-pillar loosen and remove cover (fig. 1, item 2) Screw screw out through opening in B-pillar with 5 mm Allen wrench (fig. 2, item 3) NOTE: Install screw with screw securing agent, part no Plug connection disconnect (fig. 3, S84/6x, only when removing left hydraulic cylinder) Soft top position adjust by hand (fig. 4) Retaining ring press off (fig. 5, item 4) Bolt in piston rod remove (fig. 5, item 5) Hydraulic line on left or right of distributor remove (figs. 6 and 7)

3 3 of 4 4/29/2008 9:59 PM NOTE: It is necessary to plug the hydraulic lines immediately with plugs and the connections with plugs Hydraulic cylinder remove on main bracket from inside of vehicle and lay down in soft top compartment (fig. 8) Hydraulic lines on hydraulic cylinder remove (fig. 8) NOTE: Plug the hydraulic lines immediately with plugs , the connections on the distributors and hydraulic cylinders with plugs Screws screw out (fig. 8, item 8) and remove limit switch (item 9) from hydraulic cylinder NOTE: Check limit switches after completing vehicle and adjust, if required. Reinstall Check in opposite order (observe installation note) for proper function and leakage Special tool

8 4 of 7 4/29/ :00 PM 1. Position top Remove bolt on top cylinder and press piston rod all the way in. Remove hydraulic lines (a, b). NOTE: The hydraulic lines and connections on the hydraulic cylinder must be plugged immediately with plugs part no and part no respectively.

9 5 of 7 4/29/ :00 PM Screw out screw Remove hydraulic cylinder. Installation NOTE: When the hydraulic cylinder is replaced install water drain cuff on new cylinder. 6. Insert hydraulic lines (a, b). NOTE: Bolt (internal hexagon) must be screwed in with screw locking compound (30 3 Nm ). Screw in bolt (external hexagon) without screw locking compound (90 5 Nm ). 7. Install hydraulic lines (a, b).

Side covering on backrest frame removed. See: Seats Screws (6, 7 and 8) unscrew. Covering (4) remove toward front.

Installation note Install covering so that screw for upper belt guide fitting with drive pin is positioned in mounting hole on louver (arrow). Removal, Installation

4 Pull belt out of covering and lay covering to side.

17 4 of 5 4/29/ :03 PM 3 Press cover on louver out from rear and thread belt out through separating point for cover. 4 Pull belt out of covering and lay covering to side. 5 During installation insert drive pin on screw for upper belt guide fitting into mounting hole in louver.

Lock (1) on rear seat cushion (2) press and lift rear seat cushion at front (arrows). Rear seat cushion (2) remove.

Before installing rear backrests check installation position of clip nut (4). When installing rear seat cushion insert both seat belt buckles into recess in rear seat cushion.
