5 Stay Safe, Be Safe The World is Changing The World seems to be a different place today, and wherever we are, whatever we are doing, there are threats to our safety and our possessions. Lorry and Coach Drivers are prime targets for theft of their vehicles, theft of cargo and the possibility of passengers being taken hostage! This new course, will provide drivers with an insight into actions they can take to help save themselves and others if they find themselves in a situation of likely harm. This course is more expensive because it includes the achievement of a Level 2 Award in CitizenAID and cannot be run without this. 10 FORS Protecting Vulnerable Road Users LGV Organisations who are Registered with FORS What the course covers This course is accredited with TfL and recognised by FORS for those organisations who are FORS registered operators. The Facts Are : 18,844 cyclists were injured or killed on our roads in 2015 Cyclists reveal they feel threatened by large vehicles and close overtaking Drivers reveal they are annoyed with cyclists who fail to use lights at night and weave in and out of the traffic 27th September 2017, cyclist dies after being crushed by HGV lorry in London. 6th July 2017 cyclist almost killed after colliding with a lorry in London 3rd September 2017, 18 year old cyclist killed in Salford after being hit by lorry Course Duration Group Price The course is split into two modules Classroom based Theory Practical on-cycle training Each module can take up to 12 delegates and will swap over at lunch time to complete both modules in one day. The course requires all drivers to participate in approximately 1.5 hours of cycling in urban areas under the guidance of our instructors. 12 How To Book a Course BOOKING SCHEDULED OPEN COURSES Visit our website at and select the Transport and CPC section. Here you will see the options to book onto an open course, with the current course dates being shown. Choose your course, and your course dates, and pop them into your basket, and pay on checkout. Group On Site Course We will travel to your location to deliver courses on your own sites, if this is your preference. We are flexible and adaptable at where we travel and have even flown to places to deliver some of our courses, so do not let distance put you off contacting us. Training rooms must meet health and safety compliance and have sufficient space to accommodate the course requirements. Please check with us first. Additional charges may apply for locations outside of a 30 mile radius When we receive your booking, we will send you a confirmation of training and directions of travel.
