2 IMPORTANT NOTES 1 This Auction takes place on instructions received from Stephen Cobbald on behalf of Acorn Farms Ltd due to Stephen s retirement from active arable farming. The Cobbald family first moved to Acton Hall Farm 115 years ago and Stephen started farming at Acton Hall on his own account 49 years ago and was also a former Chadacre student, and more recently, a past President of the Suffolk Show and next year will mark his 60 th anniversary since he first started to show sheep there. Stephen has also played more than a full part in promoting farming to the younger generation, being a generous benefactor to the Suffolk Young Farmers Club and promoting competitions to train young farmers in memory of his daughter, Charlotte, who died in The equipment at Acton Hall has been maintained to a high standard, with most of the modern machinery being regularly serviced and prepared for this important auction and the quality of the lots on offer fully reflects Stephen s high standards, as one of the most advanced arable farmers in the Eastern Region. This auction provides Peter Crichton and his team with one of the highest quality sales of its type they have ever conducted in the heart of Suffolk. 2 Export: If any lots are to be exported outside the EU, VAT will be charged and retained by the auctioneer until a Customs Clearance note is secured. The VAT will then be refunded. If confirmation of export is not secured within 8 weeks, the VAT will be paid to the vendor and declared in the normal way. If lots are to be exported within the EU proof of VAT registration number and confirmation of port for export will be required otherwise VAT will be charged. 3 Removal of Lots: All lots must be collected before Saturday 1 st July For those buyers who need assistance with loading, where suitable, a Telehandler with driver will be available on the day of the sale until 5pm and on the following day between 8am and 5pm, but thereafter please contact Stephen on / or Simon on beforehand to arrange access to the site and suitable loading times. Loading of items after the 1 st July 2017 will be the purchaser s responsibility. 3 Location Plan Sale Site Directions: The Sale Site at Acton Hall lies on the edge of the village of Acton, which is situated to the east of Long Melford Travelling South from Bury St Edmunds on the A134 after passing the first right turning to Long Melford take the first left hand turning onto Bull Lane signposted to Great Waldingfield. After just under 1 mile the entrance to the Sale Site will be found on the left hand side. Travelling North from Sudbury on the A134, take the second right hand turning off the Long Melford bypass onto Bull Lane signposted to Great Waldingfield. After just under 1 mile the entrance to the Sale Site will be found on the left hand side. To The Sale signs will be in position on viewing and sale days and there is on-site parking (weather permitting).
