MARINE SURVEYOR MARINE CONSULTANT 38 OAK HILL LANE ELKTON, MD SURVEY REPORT PURCHASE SURVEY SURVEY NO. xxxx APRIL 26, 2017 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: This is to certify that the undersigned surveyor at the request xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, attended the powerboat in and out of the water at Pasadena Yacht Yard, 1132 Pasadena Yacht Yard Road, Pasadena, Maryland, 21122, on the 26 th day of April in the year 2017, and did inspect said vessel for Mr. & Mrs. xxxx, while representing their interests as the prospective buyers. The vessel is a Ranger Tugs R27, built by Ranger Tugs, Division of Fluid Motion LLC, located at Pacific Highway South, Kent, Washington, (telephone number ), in the year 2012, as hull identification number xxxxxxxxxxxx. The vessel s approximate measurements are: LOA 30 1, LOD 27 1, BEAM 8 6, DRAFT 2 2, WEIGHT 6,200 lbs., and CLEARANCE w/mast DOWN 8 9. The vessel s registration number is xxxxxxxx. The vessel s documentation number is xxxxxx, which expired April 30, ALL MAJOR HULL MEMBERS, wherever accessible, together with all surfaces, joints, bonds, fillets, webs, bulkheads, and hard curve areas were carefully inspected with particular care being devoted to areas of normal stress concentrations and possible bulkheads or other hard spots. Field methods of sounding and visual sighting were used. Also, the use of a moisture meter to determine the moisture content of the hull, decks, and other areas which could retain moisture causing damage to the vessel. HULL CONSTRUCTION: built on a fiberglass hull and constructed with vinylester resin and fiberglass. The hull s exterior finishing is a gel coat glazing. The deck and cabin top was built as a one-piece unit and bonded to the hull at the vessel s sheer. The deck is of a sandwiched core and fiberglass construction. I have noted the following: a) The fiberglass to resin ratio is good. b) The resin appears to have cured well. 5 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 2 of 26 HULL CONSTRUCTION (cont.) c) The foredeck is solid and in good, structural condition with no significant delamination or voids. d) Both catwalks are solid and in good, structural condition with no significant delamination or voids. e) The small forward cabin top is solid and in good, structural condition with no significant delamination or voids. f) The aft deck is solid and in good, structural condition with no significant delamination or voids.

6 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 3 of 26 HULL CONSTRUCTION (cont.) g) The main cabin top is in good condition. h) The hull appears to run fair and in good condition with no signs of damage or repairs. i) The transom is solid and in good, structural condition. j) No visual signs of blisters on the bottom of the hull. No voids were found in the layup of the hull. No signs of damage, repairs, or hard groundings. k) Where accessible for inspection, the hull to deck seam appears to be in good condition with no signs of damage.

7 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 4 of 26 HULL CONSTRUCTION (cont.) l) The tabbing accessible for inspection appears to be in good order and well secured to the hull and hull members. m) The engine bed is in good condition with no signs of separation or structural fatigue. n) The bulkheads appear to be in good, structural condition. o) The pan system accessible for inspection appear to be solid and in good condition with no signs of separation or stress cracks. p) The deck supports accessible for inspection appear to be in good condition.

MACHINERY: said vessel is powered by a single Yanmar 4BY2-180, fresh water cooled, diesel engine. The engine s serial number is xxxxxxxx. I have noted the following: a) The water intake hose is good condition. The hose is double hose clamped. b) The water circulation hoses are in good condition. c) The exhaust hoses are in good condition. The exhaust system is double hose clamped as per ABYC standard P sections 1, 2, and 3.

9 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 6 of 26 MACHINERY (cont.) d) The linkage for the transmission and throttle appear to be in good order. e) A boot is installed to cover the starter cable terminal end as per ABYC standard E f) The motor mounts are in fair condition. The bolts are tight. g) The engine belt is in fair condition. h) Refer to the oil analysis report for condition of engine oil. i) The fiberglass muffler is well secured and appears to be in good condition. Refer to the sea trial for additional comments. j) The Kamazaki transmission has no signs of oil leaks. Refer to the sea trial for operation. GENERATOR: 1.9 kw Mase generator, serial number G The generator does have a soundshield. I have noted the following: a) The water intake hose is in good condition. The hose is double hose clamped. b) The exhaust hoses are in good condition. The hoses are double hose clamped. c) The fiberglass muffler is in good condition.

10 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 7 of 26 GENERATOR (cont.) d) The exhaust nipple and downpipe are in good condition. e) The starter cable is covered. f) The generator appears to be properly wired. g) The generator did run. The voltage output was 122 volts. BOW AND STERN THRUSTERS: Side Power bow and stern thrusters, which appear to have been properly installed. The thrusters did work.

11 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 8 of 26 RUDDER: bronze outboard balanced rudder, which appears to be straight and in good condition. There was no play in the rudder shaft log. PROP: three-blade, Nibral prop. The prop is in good condition. When tested, the blades ran out true. Note, the size of prop was hard to make out. SHAFT: 1¼ stainless steel shaft. The shaft appears to be in good condition with no pitting. The shaft appears to be straight. CUTLASS BEARING: in good condition.

12 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 9 of 26 SHAFT PACKING GLAND: compression type packing gland. The rubber is in good condition. The packing gland is double hose clamped. There is ample adjustment left on the packing gland. TRIM TABS: the tabs are well secured to the transom. No signs of hydraulic leaks; however the fluid level was a little low in the reservoir. Refer to the sea trial for operation. GALVANIC PROTECTION: the vessel is equipped with sacrificial anode protection. The castle zinc is in fair condition. The zincs are missing from the bow and stern thrusters. The vessel does have a bonding.

13 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 10 of 26 STEERING SYSTEM: Ultra Flex hydraulic steering system. The tiller arm and mechanical fittings accessible for inspection appear to be in good condition. The steering system fluid level could not be check due to the cap was on too tight. Refer to the sea trial report for operation. ELECTRONICS: the electronics appear to have been properly installed. The vessel is equipped with the following: a) The Garmin 200 VHF was in good working order. The radio check was complete. b) The Garmin 5212 GPS/radar/depth finder worked, giving test reading / c) The Garmin auto pilot worked. d) The Ritchie compass is in good condition.

14 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 11 of 26 VENTILATION: does meet all requirements as per U.S.C.G. regulation and ABYC standard H-32. The ventilation system is natural forced air. FUEL SYSTEM: the vessel is equipped with one plastic fuel tank. I have noted the following: a) The deck fill port is properly marked as per ABYC standard H b) The fuel fill hose is A-2 hose. The hose is in good condition. Both ends of the hose are double hose clamped. c) The fuel feed and return hoses are type A-1 hose. The hoses are in good condition. d) The fuel tank vent hose is in good condition. e) The fuel tank appears to be in good condition with no visual signs of leaks. f) The fuel shut off valve worked. g) The handle is missing from the fuel valve on the tank. 12 VOLT SYSTEM - negative ground system with automotive fuse block, circuit breaker panel, four Blue Seas battery switches, a 20 amp ProMariner ProNautic battery charger, and a True Power 1500 inverter. The battery charger s output was 13.6 volts. The battery charger appears to have been properly installed. The inverter appears to have been properly installed and did work.

15 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 12 of 26 ELECTRICAL: The inverter s output showed 100 volts on the panel. The inverter with transfer switch is in good working order. I have noted the following: a) The vessel is equipped with four Series 31 maintenance fee acid plate batteries. The batteries did hold a charge. b) The batteries are secured to the hull as per ABYC standard E The positive terminal ends are covered, but not properly as per ABYC standard E c) I did not detect any wiring violation and/or safety hazard with the 12 volt system. d) The cabins light worked. However, the forward cabin light in the aft compartment has a faulty switch.

16 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 13 of 26 ELECTRICAL (cont.) 120 VOLT SYSTEM single 30 amp single phase system with a circuit breaker panel. The wiring does meet ABYC standard E-11. The galley and head are equipped with GFI receptacles. The receptacle in the head does have a cover plate. The one 30 amp yellow shore power cord is in good condition. AIR CONDITIONER: approximately 9,000 BTU Marine Air, serial number The water intake hose is in fair condition. The hose is double hose clamped at the seacock. The air conditioning unit is adequately vented and appears to have been properly wired. The air conditioner worked on the heat cycle. The temperature at the air vent reached 71 F.

17 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 14 of 26 AIR CONDITIONER (cont.) BILGE PUMPS: the midship bilge is equipped with two Johnson pumps. The pumps are secured to the hull. The pumps are properly wired. The pumps did work. The discharge hoses accessible for inspection are in good condition. BILGE: water in the bilge at time of my inspection. FIRE PROTECTION: ABYC standard A-4 Table II states that a vessel 27 in length is required to be equipped with three B-1 type, U.S.C.G. approved fire extinguishers, mounted in the following locations: outside engine compartment, steering position, and galley, if equipped with a stove, or passenger cockpit. No current fire extinguisher were mounted. The vessel does have any current carbon monoxide or smoke detectors. SEACOCKS, STRAINERS, AND THRU-HULL FITTINGS: the seacocks are readily accessible and the handles are easy to operate as per ABYC standard H The thru-hull fittings do not have backup plates. I have noted the following: a) The bronze ball valve for the engine intake worked. The raw water and head intake also use this ball valve.

18 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 15 of 26 SEACOCKS, STRAINERS, AND THRU-HULL FITTINGS (cont.) b) The bronze ball valve for the generator worked. c) The bronze ball valve for the air conditioner water pump worked. d) The plastic strainers for the air conditioner and generator are in good condition. e) The bronze strainer for the engine intake is in good condition. f) The thru-hull fittings located above the water line are in good condition. The thru-hull fittings below the waterline are well secured with no signs of stray current damage. PLUMBING: the hoses and lines appear to have been properly ran throughout the vessel. The hoses below the waterline are double hose clamped. The drains, faucets, and fixtures are in good condition. The vessel is equipped with a 12 volt fresh water pressure pump, which is properly installed. The pump did work. The raw water pump appears to be in good order and properly installed. The Rule sump pump with a Rule float switch appears to have been factory installed. The pump did work. The 6 gallon Seaward stainless steel hot water heater, serial number , is properly installed. The hot water heater worked, and the water reached a temperature of 133 F.

19 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 16 of 26 PLUMBING (cont.) GALLEY: the appliances appear to have been properly installed. The galley is equipped with the following: a) Single polished stainless steel sink with a faucet for hot and cold pressurized water. The drain hose is in good condition. b) The Princess two-burner stove with oven is well secured. The stove and oven did work. The handle is broken on the oven. c) The Nova Kool refrigerator is secured to the hull. The refrigerator did work and reached a temperature of 28.4 F.

20 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 17 of 26 GALLEY (cont.) d) The microwave oven is well secured. The unit did work. HEAD: the vessel is equipped with an electric marine toilet with a plastic holding tank, ITT macerator, and a Y-valve. The discharge hoses are in good condition. The water intake hose is in good condition. The macerator worked. The toilet was in good working order. DECK HARDWARE: the deck hardware, such as cleats, chocks, and railing, are well bonded to the hull. As part of routine maintenance, the deck hardware should be pulled and rebedded in polysulfide compound.

21 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 18 of 26 NAVIGATION LIGHTS: red and green bow lights and 32 point white light worked at time of my inspection. The search light and remote worked. PORTS AND HATCHES: I have noted the following: a) The forward hatch is well secured and in good order. b) The six skylight hatches are secured and in good condition. c) The five cabin sliding windows are in good working order. d) The fixed windows are well secured with no signs of leaks. e) The one bronze port is in good condition. f) The Plexiglas door with aluminum frame at the companionway is in good condition. g) The four windshields are well secured and in good condition. h) The engine hatch is in good condition. i) The deck hatches are in good condition. j) The Starboard anchor hatch is in good condition.

22 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 19 of 26 GROUND TACKLE: Plow anchor with 5/16 chain and 5/8 three strand nylon line. The ground tackle is properly sized for said vessel. The chain link at the splice is in poor condition. WINDLASS: 12 volt Lewmar windlass with foot switch and remote. The unit appears to be well secured and properly installed. The windlass did work. SWIM PLATFORM: the platform is in good, structural condition. The telescoping swim ladder is well secured and in good condition. CANVAS: the bimini is in good condition. SOLAR PANEL: the solar appears to be factory or yard installed. It could not be tested due to cloud cover. MISCELLANEOUS a) The television did work b) The Fusion stereo worked. c) The wipers worked.

24 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 21 of 26 SEA TRIAL REPORT On April 26, 2017, I attended the sea trial performed on the Ranger Tugs R27, hull identification number xxxxxxxxxxxx, while representing the interest of Mr. & Mrs. xxxx. I have noted the following: ENGINE: The engine reached a maximum of 3,800 rpms. I did not detect any unusual noises or vibration. There were no water, oil, or exhaust leaks. The engine reached a working temperature of 175º. The engine s alternator charged at 14.0 volts.

25 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 22 of 26 SEA TRIAL REPORT (cont.) The oil pressure gauge read 60. The transmission shifted well, and I did not have any trouble finding neutral, forward, or reverse. STEERING SYSTEM Worked well with no sluggishness or play. PACKING GLANDS The shaft packing gland was dripping. The rudder gland was in good condition. TRIM TABS In good working order.

26 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 23 of 26 RECOMMNEDATIONS SAFETY ITEMS AND STRUCTURAL ITEM a) Properly cover the positive terminal ends on the batteries. b) Install new fire extinguishers in the above given locations. c) Install new smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. d) Install a handle on the fuel valve on the fuel tank. GENERAL REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT a) Remove the rusted link form the anchor chain and resplice the line. b) Repair or replace oven door handle. c) Repair the water stain on the cabin sole.

27 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 24 of 26 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE a) Bottom sample fuel tank. b) Change fuel filter. c) Spray motor mounts and shaft coupling with spray oil. d) Rebed all deck hardware with polysulfide compound. e) Align the engine to the shaft. f) Repack the engine shaft packing gland. g) Clean all bonding wire terminal ends. h) Replace all the zincs. i) Replace the motor mounts in the near future. j) Replace the batteries. SURVEYOR S SUGGESTIONS This is not part of the report, but reminders of conversations during the survey 1) Install a 120 volt bilge pump with float switch and run discharge hose to a thru-hull fitting for overboard discharge. 2) Provide a 3/8 x 30 trip line for the anchor with a fishing float and a snap shackle for quick release. 3) Install a vacuum flush head. 4) Install a deionizer. 5) Install a dripless engine shaft packing gland.

28 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 25 of 26 COMMENTS Said vessel appears to be structurally sound at the time of my inspection. Overall, the boat is beautiful and in good condition. The boat has been fairly well maintained. The color of the hull is starting to fade. I would highly recommend rebedding all deck hardware with polysulfide compound as soon as possible. I checked for any recalls on the vessel and none were listed. CONCLUSION With consideration given to market condition, condition of vessel, electronics, and the use of the BUC Book, an appraised value for said vessel can be placed at $122,500.00, with a replacement value of $194,
