ALL MAJOR HULL MEMBERS, wherever accessible, together with all surfaces, joints, bonds, fillets, webs, bulkheads, and hard curve areas were carefully inspected with particular care being devoted to areas of normal stress concentrations and possible bulkheads or other hard spots. Field methods of sounding and visual sighting were used. Also, the use of a moisture meter to determine the moisture content of the hull, decks, and other areas which could retain moisture causing damage to the vessel. HULL CONSTRUCTION: the vessel was built on a fiberglass modified-v hull and constructed with resin and fiberglass mat. The hull s exterior finishing is a gel coat glazing. 25 PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 22 of 28 THERMAL IMAGING
PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 23 of 28 THERMAL IMAGING (cont.)
PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 24 of 28 RECOMMENDATIONS SAFETY AND STRUCTURAL ITEMS a) Relocate the fuel filter at least 24 away from electrical sources. b) Repair or replace the aft float switch for the aft bilge pump. c) Install new fire extinguishers in the specified locations. Fire extinguishers mounted in lockers need an ISO label for fire extinguishers. Have the FM 200 inspected. d) Install a new marine grade carbon monoxide detector. I would also suggest the installation of smoke detectors. e) Since the stove can be used underway an aftermarket fence should be installed. ABYC standard A states that means shall be provided on stove top cooking surface to prevent cookware from sliding off the stove when inclined to 30 degrees from the horizontal, in any direction. f) Secure the microwave to shelf. g) Install cover plate on head receptacle. h) Repair navigation lights and search light.
PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 25 of 28 RECOMMENDATIONS (cont.) ITEMS FOR REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT a) Repair delaminated areas at the forward hatch and tailing end of swim platform. b) Repair the delamination on the port side bow area below the water line, which is approximately 15 aft from the bow and approximately 9 below the water line. c) Replace the interior cushions and carpet. d) Repair stress cracks, if so desired. e) The plastic retainer on the wire feed for the gen set needs to be replaced. f) Repair or replace the hot water heater. g) Remove water and oil from bilge. h) Repair the water system including the dock side water supply. This may include the pump, dockside feed, water lines, and possible water tank. i) Repair or replace the cabin lights that did not work. j) Repair canvas as needed. k) Repair MPH console gauge. l) Replace the GPS unit. m) Further evaluation of the engines are required. Refer to the FLIR thermal imaging pictures. n) Repair outdrives. Note, yard stated they were repaired prior to sea trial.
PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 26 of 28 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE a) As part of a preventive maintenance program, I would suggest rebedding all deck hardware, ports windows, hatches and underwater hardware with polysulfide compound. b) Bottom test fuel tanks. Have the tanks scrubbed if necessary. c) Spray motor mounts with W-D 40 or similar product. Keep oil of the rubber part of the mounts. d) Replace all plastic thru hull-fittings above the water line. Suggest replacing units with stainless steel thru-hull fittings. e) From what I could see of the fuel hoses, they do appear to be the original hoses. I would suggest replacing all fuel hoses in the near future. f) Clean all terminal ends of the bonding wires and bond thru hulls that are not bonded. g) Replace the zincs yearly. a) Supply a 35 lb. plow anchor with chain. SURVEYOR S SUGGESTIONS this is not part of the report b) Supply a 3/8 x 30 snubbing line with a fishing float to attach to the anchor. c) Install a teak and holly floor in the galley and main cabin, instead of replacing the carpet, with access panels throughout the cabin floor. d) Recharge the air conditioner. e) Open canvas and allow air flow to prevent greenhouse heating on the bridge deck, which will ruin the Isonglass and vinyl cushions.
PURCHASE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 27 of 28 COMMENTS I had inspected the vessel in two stages, since there was some repair required before the vessel went into the water. Said vessel had set on the hard for a while from what I was told. The gas was pumped from the tank in order to do the sea trial. However, there was some problem with the starboard engine and was fixed by the mechanic. The second attempt was successful. There was problems with the water system as stated. I think it may be due to the water system was not properly winterized. Said vessel is in need of some TLC. CONCLUSION Said vessel is suitable for manufacturer s intended purpose. With consideration given to the condition of the vessel, optional equipment, market condition, and the use of the BUC Book, it is hereby my professional opinion that an appraised value for said vessel can be placed at $34, This vessel is no longer in production. A replacement value can be set around $165, I would suggest getting an estimate of repairs, as well as full disclosure before settlement.
