MARINE SURVEYOR MARINE CONSULTANT 38 OAK HILL LANE ELKTON, MD SURVEY REPORT INSURANCE SURVEY SURVEY NO. xxxx NOVEMBER 28, 2017 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: This is to certify that the undersigned surveyor at the request of xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, attended the powerboat in and out of the water on the 28 th day of November in the year 2017, at Long Beach Marina, 800 Chester Road, Baltimore, Maryland, 21220, and did survey said vessel for Mr. xxxxxx, while representing his interest in obtaining marine insurance. The vessel is a Sea Ray 260 Sundancer, built by Sea Ray Boats, located at 2600 Sea Ray Blvd., Knoxville, TN, 37914, (telephone number ), in the year 2006, as hull identification number xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. The vessel s approximate measurements are: LOA 28 8, LOD 26 0, BEAM 8 6, DRAFT DOWN 3 4, DRAFT UP 1 10, and WEIGHT 7,900 lbs. The vessel s registration number is xxxxxxxx. This particular model was in production from 2005 until current. ALL MAJOR HULL MEMBERS, wherever accessible, together with all surfaces, joints, bonds, fillets, webs, bulkheads, and hard curve areas were carefully inspected with particular care being devoted to areas of normal stress concentrations and possible bulkheads or other hard spots. Field methods of sounding and visual sighting were used. Also, the use of a moisture meter to determine the moisture content of the hull, decks, and other areas which could retain moisture causing damage to the vessel. HULL CONSTRUCTION: the vessel was built on a fiberglass deep-v hull and constructed with resin and fiberglass mat. The hull s exterior finishing is a gel coat glazing. The deck and cabin top was built as a one-piece unit and bonded to the hull at the vessel s sheer. The deck is of a sandwiched core and fiberglass construction. I have noted the following: a) The fiberglass to resin ratio is good. b) The resin appears to have cured well. 5 INSURANCE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 2 of 17 HULL CONSTRUCTION (cont.) c) The tabbing accessible for inspection appears to be in good order and well secured to the hull supports and structural members. d) The foredeck is solid and in good, structural condition with no significant delamination or voids. e) The cabin top appears to be solid and in good, structural condition. f) The aft deck appears to be solid and in good, structural condition with no significant delamination or voids. g) The bridge deck is solid with no significant delamination or voids. h) The hull runs fair and in good condition. The gel coat still holds a good shine. There were no signs of defects or major repairs.

6 INSURANCE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 3 of 17 HULL CONSTRUCTION (cont.) i) The transom appear to be solid and in good condition. j) No visual signs of blisters on the bottom of the hull. No significant voids were found. No signs of damage, major repairs, or hard grounding. k) The hull to deck seam appears to be in good condition with no signs of damage or separation. l) The hull stringers accessible for inspection appear to be in good condition with no signs of stress or separation. m) The bulkheads appear to be in good, structural condition. n) The interior shows normal signs of wear and tear. The starboard side access plate under the aft berth for the air conditioner is cracked.

7 INSURANCE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 4 of 17 HULL CONSTRUCTION (cont.) MACHINERY: said vessel is powered by single MerCruiser 6.2 MPI raw water cooled, inboard/outboard, gasoline engine. The engine s serial number is ; the first two letters of the serial number were not legible. I have noted the following: a) The water circulation hoses are in fair condition. b) The exhaust hoses are in fair condition. The exhaust system is double hose clamped as per ABYC standard P sections 1, 2, and 3. c) The risers and manifolds are in fair condition. Note, this was only an external inspection. The exhaust manifolds do have light scaling. There was no signs of exhaust leaks. d) Boot is installed to cover the starter cable terminal ends as per ABYC standard E

8 INSURANCE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 5 of 17 MACHINERY (cont.) e) The linkage appears to be in good order. f) The engine belts are in fair condition. g) The motor mounts are the original. The motor mounts have some rusting. The bolts are tight. h) The engine is equipped with a flame arrester as per U.S.C.G. regulation sections b & c and ABYC standard P STEERING SYSTEM: rack and pinion steering system with hydraulic assist. The steering system appears to have been properly installed and in good condition. The tiller arm and other mechanical fittings accessible for inspection appear to be in good condition. Refer to the sea trial for actual operation. OUTDRIVE UNIT: Bravo Three outdrive. The lower unit appears to be in good order with no signs of stray current damage. The boots and bellows are good condition. The stainless steel mesh hydraulic hoses are in good condition.

9 INSURANCE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 6 of 17 PROP: Duo prop, which is in good condition. When tested, the blades ran out true. I did note some minor dings on the blades. TRIM TABS: the trim tabs are well secured to the hull. There were no signs of hydraulic leaks. Refer to the sea trial for operation. VENTILATION: does meet all requirements as per U.S.C.G. regulation and ABYC standard H The ventilation system is natural forced air with one inline blower. The blower did work at time of survey. The ventilation hoses are in fair condition. FUEL SYSTEM: the vessel is equipped with one plastic fuel tank with a capacity of approximately 84 gallons. I have noted the following: a) The deck fill port is properly marked as per ABYC standard H

10 INSURANCE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 7 of 17 FUEL SYSTEM (cont.) b) The tank is vented. The vent hose is in fair condition. c) The fuel fill hose is type A-2 hose and in fair condition. The upper end of the hose was inaccessible, but the lower end was double hose clamped. The hose is chaffing against the water tank d) The fuel feed hose is type A-1 hose. The hose is in fair condition. e) From what was accessible, the fuel tank appears to be in good condition with no visual signs of leaks. f) The installation of the fuel tank does comply with ABYC standard H ELECTRICAL: 12 VOLT SYSTEM - negative ground system with a circuit breaker panel, automotive fuse block, one Guest battery switch, and a 20 amp Guest battery charger. The 120 volt wire connections for the battery charger are not in a junction box. I have noted the following: a) The vessel is equipped with two Series 27 acid plate batteries. The batteries were new in b) The batteries are secured to the hull as per ABYC standard E The positive terminal ends are properly covered as per ABYC standard E c) I did not detect any wiring violations and/or safety hazards with the 12 volt system.

11 INSURANCE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 8 of 17 ELECTRICAL (cont.) 120 VOLT SYSTEM - single 30 amp single phase system with a circuit breaker panel. The wiring does meet ABYC standard E-11. The shore power system appears to have been factory installed. There were no signs of overheating. All appear to be in good order. The galley is equipped with a GFI receptacle. The vessel is equipped with one yellow shore power cord, which is weathered but still in usable condition.

12 INSURANCE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 9 of 17 AIR CONDITIONER: the vessel is equipped with a 7,000 BTU Cruisair, serial number The water intake hose is in fair condition. The hose is double hose clamped at the seacock. From what was accessible, the air conditioner is properly wired and adequately vented. The air conditioner was not tested for operation. FIRE PROTECTION: ABYC standard A-4 Table II states that a vessel 26 in length is required to be equipped with three B-1 type, U.S.C.G. approved fire extinguishers or ABC dry chemical fire extinguishers mounted in the following locations: outside the engine compartment, steering position and galley, if equipped with a stove, or passenger cockpit. The engine compartment is equipped with a Halon 1301 automatic extinguisher, which does not have a current inspection. A 2009 dry chemical fire extinguisher is mounted by the helm. No other fire extinguishers are mounted. The vessel is not equipped with any smoke or carbon monoxide detectors. BILGE: oil and water in the bilge at time of my inspection. BILGE PUMPS: the aft bilge is equipped with one Rule 1100 pump with a float switch. The pump is secured to the hull. The pump is properly wired. The pump did work. The discharge hoses are in fair condition. The midship bilge is equipped with one Rule 1100 pump with a float switch. The pump is secured to the hull. The pump is properly wired. The pump did work. The discharge hoses are in fair condition.

13 INSURANCE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 10 of 17 SEACOCK, STRAINER, AND THRU-HULL FITTINGS: the seacock is readily accessible and the handle is easy to operate as per ABYC standard H The thru-hull fitting does have a backup plate. I have noted the following: a) The flanged bronze ball valve for the air conditioner is in good working order. b) The Groco strainer for the air conditioner is in good condition. The exterior sea strainer is damaged. c) The above the waterline thru-hull fittings are in good order. The below the waterline thruhull is in good order with no signs of stray current damage. PLUMBING: the hoses and lines appear to have been properly ran throughout the vessel. The hose below the water line is double hose clamped. The drains, faucets, and fixtures appear to be in fair condition. The vessel is equipped with one plastic fresh water tank. The shower sump pump with a float switch, which is installed in a self-contained unit, appears to have been properly installed. The pump was not tested.

14 INSURANCE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 11 of 17 PLUMBING (cont.) The Shur Flo fresh water pump appears to have been factory installed. The vessel is equipped with a 6 gallon Atwood hot water heater, serial number The hot water heater appears to have been properly installed. GALLEY: the appliances appear to have been properly installed. The galley is equipped with the following: a) Single stainless steel sink with a faucet for cold and hot pressurized water. The drain hose is in fair condition. b) The Kenyon alcohol/electric one burner stove is well secured. c) AC/DC Norcold refrigerator, which is well secured to the hull.

15 INSURANCE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 12 of 17 GALLEY (cont.) d) The Sylvania microwave oven is well secured. HEAD: the vessel is equipped with a vacuum flush marine toilet with a plastic holding tank and is set up for deck pump out. The discharge hose is in good condition. The water feed line is in good condition. ELECTRONICS: the electronics appear to have been properly installed. The vessel is equipped with a Navman Tracker 5500 GPS, mph gauge, and a console mounted Ritchie compass, which is in good condition. DECK HARDWARE: the deck hardware, such as cleats, chocks, and railing, are well bonded to the hull. As part of routine maintenance, the deck hardware should be pulled and rebedded in polysulfide. NAVIGATION LIGHTS: the red and green bow light did work. The 32 point white light is broken. PORTS AND HATCHES: I have noted the following: a) The forward hatch is well secured and in good condition. b) The ports are well secured.

16 INSURANCE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 13 of 17 PORTS AND HATCHES (cont.) c) The sliding window in the aft cabin is in good condition. d) The sliding fiberglass companionway door is in good working order. e) The Taylor windshield with walk-through door is well secured to the deck and in good condition. f) The engine hatch is solid and in satisfactory condition. g) The anchor hatch is solid and in satisfactory condition. h) The deck hatches are in good condition. CANVAS: the bimini is in good condition. GROUND TACKLE: Plow anchor with three-strand nylon line. The anchor shank is bent. The anchor line is chaffed at the thimble. The ground tackle is properly sized for said vessel. SWIM PLATFORM: molded fiberglass platform. The platform is solid. The telescoping steel swim ladder is well secured. The #2 step is damaged.

18 INSURANCE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 15 of 17 RECOMMENDATIONS STRUCTURAL ITEMS AND SAFTEY ITEMS a) Install new fire extinguishers in the above given locations. Have the Halon 1301 located in the engine compartment inspected and tagged. Fire extinguishers installed in lockers need to have a ISO label on the door b) Install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. c) Install 32 point navigation white light (combo anchor/stern/steaming.) d) Install wire connection for the battery charger in a junction box. Properly secure wiring. e) Resplice the anchor line at the thimble.

19 INSURANCE SURVEY #XXX PAGE 16 of 17 COMMENTS The vessel was found to be in good, structural condition at the time of my inspection. The vessel has common wear and tear for its age. The vessel also appears to be well cared for and maintained. There was no sea trial with this report. CONCLUSION The vessel is suitable for manufactures intended purpose. With consideration given to the condition of the vessel, equipment, market condition, and the use of the BUC Book, it is hereby my professional opinion that an appraised insured value for said vessel can be set at $37, The replacement value is $110,000.00, as per BUC book. The sole purpose of this report is to obtain marine insurance and is in no way to be used for consideration of financing or purchase.
