The vessel s approximate measurements are: LOA 42 6, BEAM 13 8, DRAFT 3 6, WEIGHT 31,000 lbs., and CLEARANCE w/arch The vessel s documentation number is xxxxxxx. ALL MAJOR HULL MEMBERS, wherever accessible, together with all surfaces, joints, bonds, fillets, webs, bulkheads, and hard curve areas were carefully inspected with particular care being devoted to areas of normal stress concentrations and possible bulkheads or other hard spots. Field methods of sounding and visual sighting were used. Also, the use of a moisture meter to determine the moisture content of the hull, decks, and other areas which could retain moisture causing damage to the vessel. HULL CONSTRUCTION: the vessel was built on a fiberglass modified-v hull and constructed with resin and fiberglass mat. The hull s exterior finishing is a gel coat glazing. The deck and cabin top was built as a one-piece unit and bonded to the hull at the vessel s sheer. The deck is of a sandwiched core and fiberglass construction. Use crimp wire connectors. k) Repair the aft bilge pump. l) Install new fire extinguisher in the above given locations. Extinguishers installed in lockers or cabinet should have ISO label for extinguishers. FE241 extinguishes need inspected. m) Replace carbon monoxide detectors and install smoke detectors. n) Install an aftermarket fence around the galley stove to secure pots and pans while underway. o) Repair the navigation lights. Also, it appears that the anchor and steaming lights are wired backwards. p) Secure the forward bilge pump to the hull.
24 PURCHASE SURVEY #xxxxx PAGE 23 of 26 RECOMMENDATIONS (cont.) a) Repair the noted areas of delamination. GENERAL REPAIRS b) Repair the hull panel and shelf located behind the galley counter. c) Repair the forward bow thruster. (Start with new battery.) d) Relocate the battery away from the generator intake hose so it is not crimped. e) Further evaluation will be required for the red ON/OFF switch on the gen set as it appeared to work sporadically. f) Add fluid to steering system. g) Replace bad batteries. h) Water system needs to be cleaned and sanitized before any kind of use. i) Replace the galley stove. j) The thermostat control knob for the galley refrigerator needs to be repaired or replaced. k) Repair the aft deck ice maker. l) Repair the radar unit. It would appear to need a new screen. m) Replace the forward deck wash down hose. n) Repair or replace the ice maker.
25 PURCHASE SURVEY #xxxxx PAGE 24 of 26 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE a) Pull all deck hardware, ports and fixed windows and rebed with polysulfide compound. b) Replace the plastic thru hull fittings located above the water line. c) Clean the battery cable terminal ends. d) Clean the battery cable terminal ends on the engines. e) Spray oil on the motors mounts to keep them from rusting. f) Pull a bottom sample from the fuel tanks to determine dirt or water contamination. g) Clean rust/corrosion from the tie rod arm. SURVEYOR'S SUGGESTIONS (as per conversation at time of survey) 1) Install trip line with fishing float for the anchor 2) Install match sets of batteries (AGM or gel cell) 3) Relocate master battery switches to outside of machinery compartment to an easily accessible and dry area
26 PURCHASE SURVEY #xxxxx PAGE 25 of 26 COMMENTS At the time of the survey the vessel was not ready for the survey. The vessel has been somewhat neglected and has very limited maintenance. The first sea trial was cancelled due to poor performance. A second sea trail was done after the haul out, which had better results. A mechanic had surveyed the engines, thus a report should be generated as per operation. I had problem starting the generator and after playing with the switch it did start. The overall condition of the vessel is very good. However, it is in need of some maintenance. The fresh water in the holding tank had an extremely bad odor, which made me sick just smelling it. It was like someone accidently hooked up the hose for the waste pump out and contaminated the tank. The stench was very hard to get off your hands. CONCLUSION Said vessel is suitable for manufacturer s intended purpose. With consideration given to the condition of the vessel, optional equipment, market condition, and the use of the BUC Book, it is hereby my professional opinion that an appraised value for said vessel can be placed at $200, The replacement value can be placed at $1,080, I would advise obtaining a full disclosure of vessel and an estimate of all repairs before settlement.
