8 REPAIRING A TYRE PUNCTURE... Nine steps to repair a tyre puncture Remove and mark puncture location. 4 Measure the damaged area in order to choose the correct patch, then drill out the hole from the inside. 5 Roughen the surface to remove ridges (without applying excessive pressure). Maximum speed: 5000 rpm. 6 Remove any sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner. Add a drop of vulcanising cement to the back of the hole area. Spread the solution on the roughened surface and let the solution dry for 5 minutes. Remove the protective backing from the patch without touching the exposed surface Push the probe through the hole from the inside, until the surface of the repair patch is lying flat against the inside of the tyre. Starting from the centre of the patch, use the roller tool to affix the patch completely. Refit the tyre to the rim, inflate to recommended pressure and trim off the protruding patch stem (without pulling).
