6 DEPA Air Operated Diaphragm Pumps Advantages AODD Pumps Good suction lift capability: Pump is able to prime dry Centrifugal & eccentric screw pump are not able to dry self prime l L l < L Compact Size: Low floor space, no electrical drive, low floor space for repair Eccentric screw pumps need large space for maintenance (no Maintenance in Place, rotor stator system need space) Indefinitely dry running capability: Easy control: No risk of damage to pump or production down-time. Dry run can destruct stators of eccentric screw pumps, causes high wear and abrasion of gears of gear pumps Flow control via air drive, no expensive frequency drive needed. All electrically driven pumps need a separate frequency converter for controlling the flow rate Dead head/run against close valve: Transport of solid loaded fluids: No risk of damage to pump or valves, the product itself or of production down-time. Closed valves create high pressure peaks e.g. in hoses of hose pumps.
