9 2008 Yukon tatistical eview Whitehorse Inflation ate HIGHLIGH % Canada Whitehorse From 1998 to 2008, Whitehorse's annual average inflation rate fluctuated from a high of 3.6% in 2008 to a low of 0.7% in he 2008 figure of 3.6% marked the second year since 1998 that Whitehorse's rate of inflation was higher than Canada's. he average annual rate of inflation in Whitehorse between 1998 and 2008 was 1.8%, while the rate for Canada was 2.1% for the same time period. ee page 38 for detailed data. Despite minor fluctuations, the median rent has increased by only $48, from $671 in 1998 to $719 in Comparing 1998 to 2008, Porter Creek saw the largest increase in median rent, rising $135, or 24.4% from the 1998 figure of $553. HIGHLIGH In 2008, 389,422 travellers entered the Yukon by land through Canada Customs points of entry. his represents an increase of 23,933 people, or 6.5%, over the 1998 total of 365,509, and a decrease of 25,746, or 6.2%, over the 2007 total of 415,188.
