1 Selected tables from Livig Coditios amog Palestiia refugees i camps i Lebao The project aims at mappig livig coditios amog Palestiia refugees livig i camps i Lebao or i areas locally called "gatherigs". The Palestiia Authority wated such iformatio i order to obtai a more complete picture of the coditios uder which the refugees are livig i the various host coutries i the Middle East. The Palestiia Cetral Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) i Damascus was Fafo's parter o the project ad coducted the iterviews i the field. The project was fiaced by the Norwegia Miistry of Foreig Affairs. The MFA was iterested i the study as Norway provides substatial support to the Palestiia refugees i Lebao both through the UN orgaizatio UNRWA ad through o-govermetal orgaizatios i the coutry. The study is based o data from iterviews with 3,620 households, which cover 19,200 persos. The sample was costructed to be represetative for all the camps i Jorda as well as for the clusters of Palestiia refugee families livig i "gatherigs". The iterviews were coducted i Jauary ad February 1999.
