They provide a secure connection to terminal blocks and captive terminals and stop wire strands short circuiting to adjacent connectors. Crimping is achieved by the action of the screw in the connector, or by use of a dedicated crimping tool. The ferrules consist of a tinned copper hollow tube and are also available with a plastic colour coded insulating shroud. Available in either French or German colour codes.
