Finally got the last of the Holiday decorations put up well almost. Spring will be here any moment. With this winter s mild weather, it feels like spring now. So, go to the garage, get your California Car Duster out and start preparing! I ve actually been at it for a few months albeit very sporadically. Took my three-piece wheels apart to get the grunge off of the 40 bolts on each wheel. Why does it take 40 bolts to hold them together?! Not sure they really look much better, but short of sending them to Wheel Enhancement, it s the best I can do. Also installed RS door panels, removed the last remnants of the stereo, installed a fire extinguisher bracket and am generally cleaning everything up. Hopefully, it will be read by February 4 for Cars N Coffee at DPat. We had a great turnout in January lots of coffee and donuts generously provided by Tony and company. Let s keep the momentum going! At this meeting, we ll be talking about events for the spring and summer. Be there to put in your two cents. In addition, we should have details on our charity event aka the Holiday Party not during the Holiday Season. Perhaps most importantly, the unveiling of the 991 an exclusive peek for SIRPCA members. 2 Meet your club s Vice President Phil Green I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself to any SIR members that I haven't had the chance to meet yet. My name is Philip Green, my wife's name is Dawn and we have a daughter, Sara. I have been a member of the PCA for about a year. I am originally from the St. Louis area but moved here about 15 years ago for my job. Like everybody else in our club, I love sports cars. I did the natural progression from old Mustangs, to an MG, then a TR4 followed by a 280ZX. Next was an RX7, toss in a X/19, then a 300ZX. Couple of Vettes, a 924S, and now my 911. Of course, there were assorted others in there, but you get the idea. Currently, I have my 87 Carrera and a 914 project. Working on my cars is what I love. I would not have been fortunate enough to own these cars if I could not work on them myself. Routine maintenance, repairs, upgrades all interest me. I owe that to my dad who is a car nut and gear head. Always willing to show me how to fix something and then patiently show me again after I didn't listen to him the first time. He introduced me to the SCCA by taking me to the June Sprints at Road America when I was young. I was later an active member of the St. Louis Region of the SCCA, working F&C at the old configuration of Gateway International Raceway. I am very proud to be a member of the SIR PCA as I have met a friendly group of talented and interesting people to enjoy my passions with. I am honored to have been nominated and elected as Vice President and will do my best to serve our club. Looking forward to seeing all of you at our upcoming events and gatherings. Thanks everyone! I guess donuts and pastries and free Porsche calendars have a way of drawing us nearer. Thanks to Tony for providing for us. It was great to see everyone on a Jan morning. I did not count but there must have been at least 15 or more members that morning. That was easily the best 1 st Sat turnout since we started doing it last year.

4 1st Sat Again Feb 4 th D-Pat showroom We will once again meet in the warm and welcoming surroundings of the D-Pat showroom. It is obviously hard to know the weather a week ahead, but if it is nice enough to suit you, certainly bring the Porsche out and we can make a good showing. The important part is to be there with Porsche friends. It would be great to see everyone back this month! New 911 Rollout Feb 11 th ad D-Pat 10am -3pm I just talked with Tony and he is planning to make this a very special event. Here is a list of some of what he has planned SIR PCA members will be receiving invitations to the event via USPS mail. Bring your invitation for a free gift The Donut Bank will be supplying gourmet coffees and pastries. The Acropolis will be supplying samples of fine Greek cuisine. Brinkers Jewelers will be present representing Rolex Evansville Living will be present with promotional items And of course the unveiling of the new 911.the legacy continues!

Brake hard to go fast, Mark Mark@Roethemeier.net From the Secretary: Jeff Jackson January 7, 2012 SIR/PCA Meeting Minutes A brief membership/board meeting of SIR/PCA was conducted at 9:30 AM Saturday, January 7, 2012 at D Patrick Porsche, 200 N Green River Rd, Evansville, IN in conjunction with a First Saturday Cars and Coffee. D Patrick provided coffee and doughnuts. 18 SIR/PCA members were present; including all 2012 Board members: Greg Collins-President Philip Green-Vice President Jeff Jackson-Secretary Criss Yelton-Treasurer Mike Fox-Newsletter Editor Jerry Jindrich-Webmaster Mark Roethemeier-Event and Membership Chairman 2011 President Mark Roethemeier introduced 2012 President Greg Collins. President Collins indicated a meeting would be scheduled later in January or early February 2012 to schedule SIR/PCA events for the first half of SIR/PCA members will be notified of the proposed meeting date. Greg encouraged members to touch base with him or Mark Roethemeier with event ideas. Tony Ricketts of D Patrick indicated the dealership would continue to host Cars and Coffee during the winter months. All present expressed their appreciation to Tony. The next Cars and Coffee will be Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 9 AM. Tony Ricketts also invited SIR/PCA to the official unveiling of the new 991 Porsche at D Patrick, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, February 11, 2012 at D Patrick. More details will follow. President Collins asked if there was any other business or issues to be considered. As there were no further topics, the business portion of the Cars and Coffee gathering was closed at 10 AM. 6 VW board to discuss Porsche-deal on Feb. 14-report Jan 29 (Reuters) - Volkswagen's supervisory board will discuss plans to acquire the remaining 50.1 percent of Porsche SE'S sports car business at a meeting on February 14, German magazine Der Spiegel reported. The magazine said the German Finance Ministry already has a draft for the deal available. Volkswagen will have to pay 3.9 billion euros ($5.1 billion) plus taxes for the remaining stake. Instead of an anticipated 1 billion euros, Volkswagen will have to pay a "low three-digit million" amount in taxes, Der Spiegel said. In total the acquisition will cost Volkswagen a little over 8 billion euros. Volkswagen acquired 49.9 percent of Porsche sports cars for 3.9 billion euros in December 2009 as part of a deal that prevented the likely insolvency of debt-laden parent Porsche SE. According to disclosures from Volkswagen, Porsche SE has a put option to sell its 50.1 percent exercisable from Nov. 15, while Volkswagen can exercise its call option between March and April of next year. Last week Volkswagen said the company was closely examining other possible methods apart from the put-call options that would allow for an integration of Porsche within VW as soon as possible. ($1 = euros) Volkswagen was not immediately available for comment.

7 P2O is going to Granville this year!! Welcome to P2O! I would like to take a moment and ask you to please note that effective immediately we have a new website address for P2O: p2o.morpca.org As Chairperson of P2O for 2012, I m extremely excited about moving the event to Granville for the first time. There are several reasons we decided to move the event to Granville. After seven years in Oxford, we felt it was time for a fresh location; we wanted the event to remain. We feel that the accommodations will suit us better; the Cherry Valley Lodge and Water Park has 200 rooms, which will give us a central location for the majority of attendees. The room rate is only $99 if you register by the end of June. The total experience in Granville will be big improvement over years past. You will find Granville extremely easy to get to, being just 30 minutes east of Columbus and only 10 minutes off I- 70. This is my third year as Chairperson of this tremendously successful event, and my goal is to leverage the hard work over the last seven years by volunteers and organizers to make this year the best ever. Hosted by the Mid Ohio Region Porsche Club of America, P2O brings club and non-club enthusiasts together to share in cars and great conversations. Last year, four weeks prior to the event, the City of Oxford cancelled the event. We had to go through some tough negotiations to keep the event alive for Your attendance will help raise money for a prominent cancer foundation, our charity of choice for the third straight year. Everyone knows someone affected by cancer and we re asking everyone to help find a cure. P2O s brainchild, MaryLynn Roe, battled cancer with endless courage and this year we are continuing the tradition in her honor. MaryLynn s Row is reserved parking directly in front of show center for attendees making a $100 tax deductible contribution to ACS. Space is limited so please reserve your spot when pre-registering. Last year the spots sold out in just a few days. This year we expect up to 500 shiny Porsches to attend the uptown Granville area on Friday July 27 th and Saturday, July 28 th. In 2011, we registered 480 Porsches from 19 states and Canada, with 440 successfully making it to Oxford. Registration for this year s event opens 3/1/12. Your $35 registration fee is a real bargain considering it gets you an event T-shirt, event poster, and entry into the car show where beautiful cars and sponsors will be on hand to help make your Porsche ownership experience even better. Attendees will also have a chance to win great door prizes that will be given away throughout the day. As great as the cars are, it s the great people that create the success of this event. We hope you to choose to join us this July 27 th through 29 th in Granville, Ohio. 8 Magnus Racing Leads Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Sweep of Rolex 24 at Daytona Podium Daytona Beach, Fla. --January Richard Lietz (Austria), sharing the #44 Magnus Porsche 911 GT3 Cup with John Potter/Andy Lally/Rene Rast, took over the driving duties with less than two hours left to go at the 50 th Rolex 24 at Daytona. He then guided his car through two pit stops and to the GT victory for the Salt Lake City-based team owned by Potter and led a sweep of the GT podium by Porsche 911 race cars. In fact, with Lietz, Henzler and Lieb all Porsche factory drivers - driving their cars to the checkered flag, Porsche Motorsport North America president Jens Walther is especially proud of the Porsche people, not just the race cars. With both our customer race car owners and our factory drivers, we have the best people in the motorsports business associated with Porsche, and they are a key part in making our street cars and race cars great, said Walther, who has been president of Porsche Motorsport North America, Inc. since Winning team owner John Potter could not contain his feelings in the pit box after the checkered flag dropped, as his team was victorious in one of the greatest sports car races in the world after being in existence less than three years. This crew works so hard, and we have come so close to the top step of the podium in Grand-Am in the past, but to win for the first time, at this race is something special. Rene and Andy are great guys, and Richard really brought us home strong, said Potter. Lietz was pleased that Potter chose him to finish the race, and he thought the field of drivers was especially strong. I was honored to carry the team flag to the finish line, and we bested a field of world-class GT drivers, said Lietz. For Rene Rast (Germany), the defending Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup champion, it was his first time at Daytona, but the significance of the victory did not escape him. To finish at the top with perhaps the greatest GT field ever is an honor, and I thank Porsche and Magnus Racing for allowing me to be involved, said Rast. Andy Lally (USA) won this GT event last year, but switched teams this year to join Magnus Racing. This was a great victory for John Potter and Magnus, but it is only the first step in our quest for the Rolex Grand-Am GT championship and North American Endurance GT Championship, said Lally, who will run with Potter for the entire Grand-Am season in their Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. Finishing the Porsche sweep of the podium is the second-place TRG Porsche of Steve Bertheau/Marc Goosens/Wolf Henzler/Spencer Pumpelly/Jeroen Bleekemolen, and the #59 Brumos Porsche (Leh Keen/Hurley Haywood/Andrew Davis/Marc Lieb) was third. Both teams led for substantial lengths of time during the 24-hour event, but, in the end, both the cars couldn t catch the Magnus Porsche. We ran the whole event flat out, and spent hours and hours in the lead, but we had some front-end body damage that hurt our aerodynamics, and an extra pit stop in the end brought us up a little bit short. Still, we are proud of our Brumos drivers and crew, and we won the GT championship last year after finishing fifth, so we will proceed on that mission again, said Hurley Haywood, five-time Daytona overall winner an current Brumos team manager. For Porsche factory driver Wolf Henzler (Germany), qualifying woes put their TRG Porsche near the back of the field for the start of the race, but they also led for multiple hours before clutch woes slowed them down near the end. Alex Job Racing s WeatherTech Porsche was hit by a prototype, ruining its suspension and other parts causing a long pit stop and a 17 th place finish. Similarly, Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche lost its power steering (preceeded accident during the night), which put another pre-race favorite at the 15 th finishing position.

It is a 2003 TT with less than 15k miles, practically new. I just did the 15 k service. Meridian Metallic with black interior, navigation, and lots of other options, all stock and in mint condition.
