10 PTFE VALVES AND CONNECTORS SCREW LOCKING SYSTEMS Mastco s range of valves and connectors allow the assembly of a wide range of pipeline systems which are chemically inert and operate over a wide temperature range. Wetted parts are pure PTFE, lock nuts are talc filled polypropylene and grips are VITON. Screw locking valves and connectors are for use with rigid or semi-rigid tubing in Glass, PTFE, or FEP. This provides a system that will withstand vacuum (10-1 mmhg) and pressure (4 Bar). Valves are not recommended for use in applications where rapid temperature changes occur (20-30 C). 14 RIGID SLEEVES AND ADAPTERS FOR GLASS JOINTS For lubrication-free, high vacuum seals using standard ground glass joints. Rigid sleeves and adapters will withstand high vacuum - leakage rate less than 1 x 10-4 torr, litre, sec. -1. High vacuum performance is obtained using transverse trapezoidal sealing rings on the contacting surfaces. These rings compress on assembly to give liquid and gas tight seals.
