Variable point lengths allow greater design flexibility to ensure proper punch to die alignment for long, accurate production runs. PM4 particle steel is standard material for Danly Variable Punches. PM4 is a high vanadium, high carbon tool steel which offers improved wear and impact characteristics compared to M2 steel. It s well suited for perforating at high operating speeds. Danly Variable Punches are also available in A2 (5% chrome) high performance tool steel, and M2, high speed steel, triple-tempered for toughness where abrasion resistance is required.
