HAZARDS Reduced braking capacity may pose a hazard to the driver and other road users. Contact the nearest authorised Caterpillar dealership to retrofit thermal shielding to the affected brake lines. TAYLOR-DUNN / TRIDENT LSV-2011 Taylor-Dunn Manufacturing Company STEERING 15 If the weld fails, steering control may be lost while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. Taylor-Dunn will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering shafts, free of charge. 4 NAME OF PRODUCT: Arctic Cat Snowmobiles UNITS: About 3,900 : Arctic Cat Inc., of Thief River Falls, Minn. DESCRIPTION: The recall involves model year 2013 wide-track versions of the Arctic Cat Bearcat series. The Bearcat 570 XT and 570 WT have seats for an operator and a passenger. The model name and the letters XT or WT are on each side of the hood and the number 570 is near the rear of the tunnel on each side. Both vehicles have blue hoods. The Bearcat Z1 XT has seats for an operator and a passenger. The model name and the letters XT are on each side of the hood and Z1 is near the rear of the tunnel on each side. It has a blue hood. The Bearcat Z1 XT GS is a single-rider vehicle. The model name and the letters GS are on each side of the hood and Z1 is near the rear of the tunnel on each side. It has an orange hood, a winch on the front and a light bar located behind the operators seat. The Bearcat Z1 XT LTD has seats for an operator and a passenger. The model name, the letters XT and the word Limited are on each side of the hood and Z1 is near the rear of the tunnel on each side. It has a black hood and tunnel. Recalled vehicles have the last six digits of the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the following ranges: through and through The VIN appears on a sticker attached to the tunnel on the riders right side and is also engraved in the same area. MANUFACTURED IN: United States HAZARD: The fuel tank can leak, posing a fire hazard. INCIDENTS/INJURIES: Arctic Cat has received three reports of snowmobiles leaking fuel when set-up at dealerships due to damage during the production process. Arctic Cat has received no reports of fires, property damage or injuries related to the recalled vehicles. Voluntary recall. Page 4

5 NAME OF PRODUCT: Snowmobiles UNITS: About 82 : Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minn. DESCRIPTION: The recall involves 2013 Polaris Pro-RMK 600 and 800 snowmobiles. The snowmobiles come in red, white and black. "Pro- RMK" is on the lower right and left sides of the hood. The engine size and the letters "ES" or the words "Limited Edition" are on the upper right and left sides of the hood. The numbers "155" or "163" are on the rear of the tunnel. "Polaris" appears on the sides of the seat. The model number and serial number can be found on the right hand side of the tunnel below the seat. This recall includes the models listed below: HAZARD: The bolt attaching the front, lower left shock can fail and cause the operator to lose control of the vehicle. This poses a serious hazard of injury or death. INCIDENTS/INJURIES: No incidents or reports have been received. Voluntary recall. SUPPLIER Bombardier Recreational Products Inc DEFECTS Due to an improper assembly of the steering column to the rack and pinion, the steering column lower splines may fail. HAZARDS If the defect occurs, the operator could lose control of the vehicle causing serious injuries or even death. DESCRIPTION: The recalled vehicles are twowheel drive and four-wheel drive 2012 Honda FourTrax Rancher ATV TRX420 FA, FE, FM, FPA, FPE, FPM, TE and TM models. The ATVs are red, green or camouflage and have the word "Honda" and the Honda wing logo on both sides of the fuel tank. The word Rancher is on the front cowl below the handlebars and on the left rear fender. Rancher models in the following Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) ranges are being recalled: HAZARD: A weld on the ATVs front right and left upper suspension arms can separate, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle, posing a crash hazard. INCIDENTS/INJURIES: Honda is aware of 10 incidents of suspension arm weld failures, including one in which a rider suffered a sprained wrist. Voluntary recall. If the fan becomes obstructed, localised heating of the electrical circuit may occur. There is a risk that the vehicle could catch fire even once the engine has been switched off. Should both fixings become detached, the brake caliper may detach from the rear suspension knuckle and impact with the rotating road wheel, leading to loss of function of a brake circuit and potential sudden deflation of the associated wheel and tyre assembly. Loss of a brake circuit s function or sudden deflation of a tyre will lead to an increased risk of a vehicle crash. Voluntary measures: Withdrawal of the product from the market. OF ORIGIN: United Kingdom INJURIES In very extreme cases, fatigue failure of one or both of the steering gear mounting fixings may occur. Should both bolts fatigue, the steering gear will slip into a fixed position within the vehicles front sub-frame, restricting the available steering lock. Restricted steering lock would prevent the driver from being able to steer the vehicle as normal. Should this occur, the driver may not be able to take evasive steering action in an emergency, leading to an increased risk of a vehicle crash. 13 BLUE BIRD / VISION-2013 Blue Bird Body Company STEERING:LINKAGES:LINK:DRAG:CONNECTIO N 222 Blue Bird is recalling certain 2013 model year Vision conventional school buses manufactured from August 27, 2012, to November 06, The castle nut that attaches the drag link to the steering arm may not have been torqued to the proper specifications. Improperly torqued drag link castle nuts could cause excessive movement at the drag link to steering arm connection which could lead to potential separation of the drag link from the steering arm and loss of steering control, which may increase the risk of a crash. Blue Bird will notify owners, and dealers will check the torque on the drag link castle nuts. Any vehicle where the castle nuts are found to be loose will also have its steering arm inspected for wear. The recall is expected to begin on, or about, December 21, Owners may contact Blue Bird at BMW / S 1000 RR BMW of North America, LLC STRUCTURE:MOTORCYCLE KICKSTAND/ CENTER STAND 2,385 BMW is recalling certain model year S 1000 RR motorcycles manufactured September 2011, through December Due to a manufacturing fault, the side-stand attachment bolts could start to loosen. The loosening of the side-stand bolts could cause the stand to separate from the frame of the motorcycle. A separation of the sidestand could cause the motorcycle to fall, causing a risk of injury. BMW will notify owners, and dealers will clean the sidestand mounting plate threads and replace the sidestand mounting plate bolts, free of charge. CHEVROLET / COLORADO GMC / CANYON General Motors LLC LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:HOOD:LATCH 118,800 General Motors is recalling certain model year Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon vehicles manufactured from November 9, 2009, through August 28, 2012, for failing to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, "Hood Latch System." The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch. If the primary hood latch is not engaged, the hood could open unexpectedly. During vehicle operation, this could obstruct the view of the driver and increase the risk of a crash.
