1 ir Flow Factors Model: TDC irflow Measurements Procedure 1. Record diffuser velocities with lnor probe in the locations and orientation shown the velocity Measurement Location Chart. Note: Each diagram within the Velocity Measurement Location chart contains ' 'signs, measure the velocity at these points on the specific TDC. 2. Calculate airflow each side using the following equation. Flow Rate: CFM = verage Velocity x rea Factor x alancing Factor. Example: Size 12 x 36 diffuser, 3-1 pattern; with velocity readings 1000, 1200, 1250, 1300, 1250, 1200, and 1000 fpm. verage velocity = 1171 fpm. Flow factor table information is as follows. rea Factor Side = 0.08 rea Factor Side = 0.46 alancing Factor = Calculations: irflow Side = 1171 x 0.08 x = 109 CFM irflow Side = 1171 x 0.46 x = 629 CFM Total irflow = = 1367 CFM Note: 3-1 denotes a three-way pattern in one diffuser.
