3 Kawasaki Technology - Click on the Icon to view more information Powerful V-Twin Engine Electronic Cruise Control Dashboard Lights Long-stroke, liquid cooled, SOHC, 8-valve 1,700 cm3 V-Twin engine was designed to deliver high levels of torque. Allows a desired engine RPM to be maintained with the simple press of a button. The rider does not have to constantly control the throttle, enabling relaxed cruising. This reduces stress on the right hand when travelling long distances, contributing to a high level of riding comfort. Instrument layout & large round dials give the console a sporty appearance. Bore and stroke measure 102 x 104 mm. This image is reinforced by red-coloured rings on the dials, amber backlighting on the dials and instrument. All the Technology High-spec audio system features twin 40 W speakers, radio and compatibility with an ipod, XM tuner or CB radio unit. Class-leading ipod-compatibility allows the audio display to show the same information available on the ipod screen: song name, playlist, etc all appear on the audio display. The audio system can be controlled from the handle bar switches. Twin Tapered Mufflers Twin tapered mufflers extend to the end of the side bags, adding to the bike?s long, flowing lines and creating a rumble to match the attitude. 6-Speed with Overdrive 6th gear is an overdrive gear, contributing to stress-free riding and better fuel economy when travelling at highway speeds. Vaquero Brakes Large Front Cowl and Wind Deflector Muscular front cowling and smoked wind deflector, key bagger styling elements, offer protection from the wind and weather. Mounting the cowl to the frame rather than the handle-bars contributes to light handling and minimises the effect of wind buffeting. Sleek, Lockable Side Bags Capacious side bags are curved on the top and flat on the bottom? a design that lends itself well to the bagger styling. The side bags open to the side and feature minimalist latches. Each offers 35 litres of storage space.

4 K-ACT ABS is an advanced anti-lock braking system, designed to keep tyres from locking up during braking. K-ACT ABS was designed to be used on touring models weighing in excess of 300 kg? and that is before adding a tandem rider and luggage. Complementing its standard ABS function, K-ACT ABS links the front and rear brakes. It monitors the brake force the rider is exerting at both the front and rear, and takes into consideration vehicle speed to ensure highly effective braking while maintaining chassis stability. ETV (Electronic Throttle Valve System) Kawasaki?s first fully electronic throttle actuation system enables the ECU to control the volume of both the fuel (via fuel injectors) and the air (via throttle valves) delivered to the engine. Ideal fuel injection and throttle valve position results in smooth, natural engine response. Control of both fuel injection and airflow also enables precise cold-engine idling speed control.
