The sensuous styling is both audacious and subtle. The agressive design gives the Ninja 1000 an appearance that is instanly recognisable as a Kawasaki, yet ensures it retains its own distinct identity when lined up next to the Ninja family. Sporty instrument panel features a large analogue tachometer complemented by a multi-function LCD screen. Low Power mode limits the output to 70% of Full Power and uses a milder throttle response. The KTRC and power modes are shown on the panel and controlled from a switch on the left grip. With the airbox nestled between the frame beams, intake air can be affected by engine heat. The Cool Air system routes cool air to the airbox from ducts at the front of the side fairings, minimising performance loss due to heated intake air. Super-sport Seduction

3 Riding excitement is about more than just performance figures. Riding impact comes from the sensations the rider feels. Whether twisting the throttle to enjoy the engine's superb response and strong acceleration, or flicking the quick-steering and light handling package into a corner and feeling the road through the tyres and chassis like and extension of your own body. The strong torque and mid-range hit of the previous Ninja 1000 remains along with amazing throttle response Liquid coooled, DOHC, 16 Valve, 1043cm3 In-line four cylinder engine Good over-rev characteristics mean the power does not drop off suddenly at high rpm Power delivery is quite linear, but the engine spins up noticeably faster from around 7,000 rpm onwards Silky smooth response from mid-high range rpm ensures excellent driveability Assist and Slipper Clutch added for the 2016 Model Enhanced Intake Note Designed specifically so that the acceleration could be enjoyed aurally as well as physically, the carefully crafted auditory note of the intake is a key component of the street riding exhiliration offered by the Ninja 1000.

4 Assist and Slipper Clutch 3-Mode KTRC (Kawasaki TRaction Control) Riders can choose from three modes. Mode 1 and 2 prioritise maximum foward accesleration. Mode 3 provides rider reassurance by facilitating smooth riding on slippery surfaces. Riders may also elect to turn the system off. Conditions are confirmed every 5 milliseconds, and control via ignition timing enables extremely quick reaction. Exhaust System Assist and Slipper Clutch was developed based on feedback from racing activities. The clutch uses two types of cams (an assist cam and a slipper cam), offering two new functions not available on the standard clutch of the previous model. When the engine is operating at normal rpm the assist cam functions as a self-servo mechanism, pulling the clutch hub and operating plate together to compress the clutch plates. This allows the total clutch spring load to be reduced, resulting in a lighter clutch lever pull when operating the clutch. Fewer (3, vs 5 on the previous model) clutch springs translate to a 30% lighter clutch lever feel. The exhaust system features a 4-into-2-pre-chamber-into-2 layout. Silencer endcaps create a quad style image. The endcap design with large exhaust exits add to the sporty look of the Ninja Joint pipes linking the exhaust headers contribute to increased feeling and response at all rpm. Main and pre-catalysers ensure the emissions are clean.

5 Front Suspension Rear Suspension ABS Front and Rear Brakes The direct handling of the Ninja 1000 can be largely attributed to the suspension settings. the bike responds quickly to rider input and soaks up bumps and ruts. The rear shock features rebound and preload adjustablity. The Ninja 1000 features Tokico monobloc calipers. Achieving the ideal braking characteristics required a redefinition of what Kawasaki?s?ideal? braking was to be. Where the previous model offered very linear brake power application, the brakes on the Ninja 1000 have a firm initial touch, followed by a controlled increase in brake force. 41mm inverted front forks feature stepless compression and rebound damping and spring preloas adjustability. Load the bike up with a pillion and luggage and then easily adjust the rear suspesion via the remote adjuster. The rear shock runs a 95 N/mm standard spring rate for responsive handling. 300mm twin front brake petal discs are gripped by 4-piston radial mounted monobloc calipers. The rear brake features a single piston, pin-slide caliper gripping a 250mm petal disc. Everyday Versatility With a relaxed riding position that can accommodate everything from city riding to touring to sport riding, and numerous bike-life-enhancing features, the Ninja 1000 complements its street riding excitement with a depth not available on Super-Naked or supersport models. Touring and two-up potential is increased thanks to the genuine luggage accessories, comfortable seats and easy adjustability. The Ninja 1000's relaxed riding position is designed to accomodate everything from city riding to touring to sport riding. This blend of comfort and control allows the rider to enjoy a variety of riding situations. The mirrors and the separate, raised handlebars contribute to the sporty and comfortable riding position. The optional pannier kit requires mounting kits, colour coded covers, one key lock system and deco strips and fitment. Adjustable Windscreen Large-volume Fuel Tank Windscreen has three available positions spanning approximately 20 and ranging from sporty to maximum wind protection, to suit rider preference. 19 litre fuel tank offers a substantial touring range. Adjustment can be done by hand (no tools required) by depressing the release button below the instrument panel. (Windscreen adjustment should be done with the bike stopped.)
