2 Information on how to use GT Roller Flex3 GT Roller Flex3 is a new type trainer that has unique structure and characters. Read this user manual carefully and use it in a safe manner. Supported Bicycles This roller unit can be used with typical 27inch road bicycle Wheel size: 700C, 27 inch Tire size (width): 20 25cm Wheelbase: mm Front fork spacing: 100mm Front forks that uses 9mm quick release skewer. Placement Location Do not use this roller on uneven surface such as gravel road or unpaved areas. Set the roller in a location where all the rubber foot contact to the ground. Do not use the roller on a location with the horizontal incline of 1 degree or greater. Check if the roller is set on a location where it may sink into carpet or training mat while in use as the flywheel may contact it and causes damages. Check before each ride (Before use) Check the air pressure of the tire to have the specified air pressure before each use. Using with tire with too low air pressure may result in crack in the sidewall or flat tire. Check for any cracks in the side wall of tire. Tire may burst during the use if it is worn or damaged. (We recommend using special tire for the trainer use with the specified air pressure) Check tire carefully and remove foreign materials such as sand from the tire before each use. It may cause an abnormal wear in the resin roller of the unit. Check if the front fork is firmly mounted to MC. The front fork may come off while in use if it is loose. Check if the wheelbase is fit to the roller. If it is not fit, adjust it according to the user manual. Copyright(C) GROWTAC

3 Information on how to use GT Roller Flex3 (continued) Others GT Roller Flex3 requires you to keep your balance while using this unit. You may fall if you severely loose your balance. Intense weight shift or extreme training may result in trainer unit to fall over. (User must be responsible for any damages or injuries occurred during usage of this product and we shall not be liable.) Do not disassemble any parts except for the maintenance parts specified in this instruction manual. Do not use this product if your weight is over 100kg (220 lbs.). If the tire slips while riding out of saddle or doing high intensity training, shift your weight to the rear side of your bicycle or lower the air pressure of the tire a bit. If the slipping continues, the resin roller will melt and wears out abnormally. Do not use rear brake. If you use rear brake during training, the resin roller will be permanently damaged and it may result in parts such as flywheels coming off. The Flywheel and its surrounding area will be extremely hot. Do not touch the area at least 20 minutes after the use. Using tire with uneven surface such as file pattern, the noise is louder while in use. Regularly check and tighten all the screws. 5mm and 6mmhex wrench is required for assembly. Place MC at M8 screw point of the base plate. Remove rubber bands attached. 2. Tighten the screws firmly with hex wrench (6mm). Basic usage and alignment 1Preparation 1. Decide where to install. Choose a location as flat as possible in horizontal direction.

Loosen the clamp levers at the both sides until the legs are completely open. 4. Fasten the clamp levers firmly. 5. Rotate the safety stopper all the way. 6.

It will be in Y shape when the legs are open all the way. Make sure all the rubber legs are grounded. If not, it may cause damage.

Rotate the safety stopper all the way. 6. Check that the rubber legs at right, center and left is grounded. 7. Install the bicycle which front wheel is already removed and fasten the quick release firmly. It will be in Y shape when the legs are open all the way. Make sure all the rubber legs are grounded. Caution: This is not how to open and close the legs. 1 Pull the lever up and the lever will be free. 2 Rotate the lever to the preferred position. 3 The lever will be locked once you let go of your hands. 2Align the wheelbase Please make sure to align it properly.

6 2Align the wheelbase Please make sure to align it properly. If it is not aligned properly, it may cause damage such as tire slipped and melting rollers. Fit the roller unit in the center of the rear wheel. 1. Loosen the wheelbase adjustment screw(4 screws). 2. Rotate the 2 rollers in the roller unit to the outward (blue arrow) and the inward (green arrow) alternately. 3. Align the wheel base to minimize the wheel rotation when rotating the 2 rollers. 4. Tighten the wheelbase adjustment screw(4 screws). 5. Check whether the 2 rollers at the roller unit are simultaneously rotated by rotating the wheel. 7 3Align tilt in the horizontal direction 1. Wear bicycle shoes and ride on the bicycle. 2. Warm up your body while pedaling. 3. If it is fell either left or right, you need to align its tilt. Minimize the tilt according to the picture below. 4. Alignment is complete if you feel you are at the center of the bicycle. (Reference information) (Tilt may be caused by many reasons rather than tilt floor such as accuracy of the bicycle, legs length difference, distortion of the body, habit etc.) (Example) If you feel the bicycle fell in the left direction, Rotate the adjuster and raise the legs Rotate the adjuster and lower the legs Please make sure all the rubber legs are grounded. It may cause damage. Notes: When you first use GT Roller Flex3, you may feel fear. If you feel that way, face to the front, relax your shoulders and arms and pedal the bicycle applying a load to the rear wheel. (How to get used to the 3 rollers)you can get used to it in a few minutes. If you stick to the correct tilt alignment, you can go on forever. Tire In case that riding position of the rear wheel is largely out of alignment In most cases, the riding position of the rear wheel should be within normal range but if it is largely out of alignment from the normal range, please follow the below instruction to check it. How to fix the problems 1. Review your installation location. Install it on a place that has no tilt in horizontal direction. 2. Check the installation status of your bicycle and its accuracy Is the front fork fixed correctly? The gap between the seat stay and wheel are the same for both right and left? Are the seat tube and wheel parallel to each other from behind? 3. Adjust roller unit Loosen the set screw Since the roller unit will be loosed a bit, rotate the load unit followed by the picture. 9 5Adjustment of Motion Controller 3 By changing the position of the inside elastomer, MC characters can be changed based on user's requirements. Please adjust based on user's weight and balancing ability or training method. How to Adjust Elastomer 1. Loosen 2 locking screws at the upside of MC and slowly remove the top of MC. 2. When the elastomer pops out, remove the elastomer from the case.

Select elastomer's character from Soft, Medium and Hard and assemble it according to the picture below.

Apply new silicon grease on holes, outer, upper and under surface of the elastomer. 5. Wipe grease attached to upside of the shaft.

10 How to Adjust Elastomer 1. Loosen 2 locking screws at the upside of MC and slowly remove the top of MC. 2. When the elastomer pops out, remove the elastomer from the case. 3. Wipe old grease around elastomer and the inside of the case. 4. Select elastomer's character from Soft, Medium and Hard and assemble it according to the picture below. If elastomer exhibits any crack or softening, replace it with a new one. Apply new silicon grease on holes, outer, upper and under surface of the elastomer. 5. Wipe grease attached to upside of the shaft. Insert the upside of MC into the shaft and tighten the 2 locking screws evenly and firmly, while pressing them from above.
