1 HOW TO MEASURE YOUR SLIDING SCREEN DOOR 1. WHAT YOU WILL NEED: a. Tape measure. b. Something to record your measurements. 2. CAN YOUR SLIDING DOORS ACCOMMODATE A SCREEN DOOR? a. Check that the operable (Sliding) door is on the interior track and the fixed door panel is on the exterior track. b. Ensure there is a top channel on the outside of the fixed door panel, which can accommodate the sliding screen door. This channel should be at least 20mm in internal width and 15mm in depth. c. Ensure there is a bottom track on the outside of the fixed door panel, which the sliding screen door rollers can sit on. It may be another channel like the top, or simply a small nib for the door roller to run on. d. Ensure there is a receiving channel on the jamb the sliding door is to lock into. This channel should be at least 20mm in internal width. e. Check that the handle for the glass sliding door will not interfere with the frame or lock of the sliding screen door. Position the screen door lock above or below the existing glass sliding door lock when you record your measurements. 14 Gilbulla Avenue 3. WHICH OPTIONS WOULD YOU LIKE? a. Choose your door style: Screen, Diamond Grille, Alugard or Screenguard. b. Choose your lock type: Single Point Lock with 5 Pin Cylinder, or 3 Point Lock with 5 Pin Cylinder c. Choose your colour.

2 4. MEASURING THE HEIGHT: a. Most doors will have an arrangement similar to one of the two diagrams below. Measure the height at three points, once at each side and one in the middle, using the applicable method. Deduct 12mm from the smallest measurement and record. If you discover you have a large variation between any of the three measurements (>5mm), please contact us.

3 5. MEASURING THE WIDTH: a. Single Sliding Door: Measure as shown in the diagram below, at three points; Top, middle and bottom. Record your smallest measurement. If you discover you have a large variation between any of the three measurements (>5mm), please contact us. Typical Door Width Measurement

4 b. Stacking Sliding Door: Measure as shown in the diagram below, at three points; Top, middle and bottom. Take the smallest measurement, add 50mm and then divide by 2. Record your measurement. If you discover you have a large variation between any of the three measurements (>5mm), please contact us. (X + 50)/2

5 6. DO YOU REQUIRE INTERLOCKS? a. Please refer to the diagram below to determine whether your glass sliding door already has the provision for an interlock. If not, measure as shown in the diagram. Record your measurement and refer to the following table to determine which receiving interlock you require. To determine the size of the receiving interlock required, measure as shown. From the face of the sliding glass door stile, to the centre of the screen door track. 6 7. WHICH SIDE IS THE LOCK ON? a. View the door from the outside and record the side the lock should be on. This will be the same side as the lock on the sliding glass door. 14 Gilbulla Avenue 8. WHAT HEIGHT SHOULD THE LOCK BE? a. Take a measurement of at what height you would like the lock, as measured to the centre of the lock. Make sure the lock position won t interfere with the existing sliding glass door lock or any part of the frame. It is best to position the lock above or below the existing sliding glass door lock. The size of the lock is approximately 160mm, 80mm up and 80mm down from the centre line.
