2 Tips to Help Get Started Use a steel tape measure for accuracy, and provide all measurements to the nearest 1 8". NUMBER OF PANELS: Refer to the chart on the Ordering Checklist page to determine the number of panels you can choose based on the width of your window. Shutters with 2 or more panels will open in the center with an equal number of panels folding on each side. NUMBER OF S (Outside Mount): If you have a sill or the floor meets at the bottom of your window, order a 3-sided frame. 3-sided frames are framed on the sides and top only with no frame on the bottom. 4-sided frames are framed on all sides of the window. Factor in the size of the room and ceiling height when choosing your louver size. The larger the louver, the more light and view you'll enjoy when they're open. The inch louver works in most rooms and is our most popular size. Larger rooms, especially those with views, require our inch louver. For smaller windows, choose inch. DIVIDER RAIL TOP RAIL LOUVERS TILT BAR 4-D BOTTOM RAIL Divider Rails: A divider rail is required if shutter panel height is over 74". Although added strength is the main feature of a divider rail, it also allows bottom louvers to be fully closed for privacy and top louvers open for light control or vice versa. 3-Sided Frame TOP OF S You may select either 3 or 4 sided frame. When selecting the number of frame sides, you must specify the frame style for each side, ie. Left, Right, Top and Bottom. When ordering your frame, all sides must be the same style except for the bottom of the shutter. The bottom frame side can be the same as the others or you may choose to have no frame, or a window sill frame. A window sill frame is designed to sit on top of your window sill. Inside mount only. 2" Bel Air Z-Frame Use for inside mounts in openings with drywall returns and no trim. Beaded May be used for outside mounts directly on top of the trim or beside trim. Bullnose May be used for outside mounts directly on top of the trim or beside trim. 2" Camber Deco Frame May be used for outside mounts directly on top of the trim or beside trim.

3 Select a Mount - Inside or Outside Most Shutters should be installed as Outside Mount, as this is more forgiving of unsquare windows. Inside Mount can be used only when your window is square: to check for squareness, measure diagonally in both directions, as shown. If the two measurements differ by more than 1 4", then the window is not square enough for an Inside Mount and you must order Outside Mount. Outside mounted shutters are mounted on your wall or molding. Inside Café Mount covers the lower portion of your window but leaves the top section open. Measure the width following standard Inside Mount instructions. For height measurement, indicate exact total height desired from sill. Indicate Café Shutter under Notes on your order. Tips: Café length Shutter usually measure 1 2" of the window length. These styles are especially useful for kitchens, allowing both natural light and privacy. Measuring IN MOUNT Measure Width at top, middle and bottom of opening from edge to edge; record the smallest measurement to the nearest 1 8". Measure Height in three (3) places, left, middle, right, and record the smallest measurement to the nearest 1 8". For café style, give exact height desired from sill. OUT MOUNT MEASURE WIDTH MEASURE HEIGHT Outside Mount Shutters are mounted using a frame around the panels. Determine width & height by measuring unobstructed depth from your mounting surface, including molding, frame, handle, or lock. The frame depth is essential to ensure your louvers will rotate freely. Tips: Measure Width at top, center and bottom of opening; record the largest measurement. Measure Height at both sides, and center of opening; record the largest measurement. Select your frame based on Louver size and depth requirements. Measure from the bottom of the frame to the middle of the divider rail location. One divider rail is required for panels over 74" in height.

4 Selecting your Outside Mount Location OUT MOUNT NO TRIM: Measure the Inside width in 3 places (top, middle & bottom). Take the largest measurement to 1 8" and add 1 2" per side (Left and Right) for and add 2" per side for Camber Deco frame. Measure the inside height in three places (left, middle & right). Take the largest measurement to 1 8" and add 1 2" per side (Top and Bottom) for and add 2" per side for Camber Deco frame. OUT MOUNT ON TRIM: Measure width from outside of trim to outside of trim in three (3) places (top, middle & bottom). Ensure the frame does not extend into the opening. Record the largest measurement to 1 8". OUT MOUNT BEYOND TRIM: Measure width from outside of trim to outside of trim in three (3) places (top, middle & bottom). Add 1 5 8" per frame side for L-frame and add 2 3 4" per frame side for Camber Deco frame. Record the largest measurement to 1 8". Measure height from outside of trim to outside of trim in three (3) places (left, middle & right). Add 1 5 8" per frame side for L-frame and 2 3 4" per frame side for Camber Deco frame.record the largest measurement to 1 8". Please Note: 2" Camber Deco Frame is not recommended for this mount style. BUILDOUTS: Measure height from outside of trim to outside of trim in three (3)places (left, middle & right). Ensure the frame does not extend into the opening. Record the largest measurement to 1 8". with 1/2" Buildout DIVIDER RAILS: Measure from the bottom of the frame to the middle of the divider rail location. One divider rail is required for panels over 74" in height. with 1" Buildout PLEASE NOTE: Request a 1/2" or 1" Buildout to extend your frame.
