2 GreenerFleet is a powerful fleet management tool that enables companies to monitor driving style and behavior to encourage safer and greener driving by their employees. How is the data obtained? The Greenerbox vehicle tracking solution is used to collect data using CANBus technology. The Greenerbox module connects to the vehicles CANbus using Masternaut s patented contactless technology (Muxy Clip). This provides detailed driver behaviour and fuel consumption information without making a direct connection to the CAN, protecting your vehicles onboard systems and without invalidating manufacturer s warranty. Driver Behaviour The driver behaviour table displays a summary of driver trends and scores thus highlighting areas where improvements could be made to increase MPG efficiency.

3 Driver Behaviour The driver behaviour table displays a summary of driver trends and scores thus highlighting areas where improvements could be made to increase MPG efficiency. It provides a breakdown of individual driving events that influencee each of these scores. Select ALL drivers or a specific GROUP, then select the date range you wish to view. Using the SHOW SCORES tick box, you can choose to display harsh event scores against each driver or simply display using the RED/AMBER/GREEN (RAG) colour grade display. The RAG parameters are configurable within Greenerfleet s Administration section giving you the ability to decide what scores constitute a red, amber or green grade. Drivers are ranked by their overall ECO and SAFETY score in a Red/Amber/Green colour system. This indicator representa time spent idling (Speed = 0 while engine is ON) in comparison with the total journey duration. It reflects the unnecessary fuel consumption which occured while idling. This indicator impacts on the Eco-Driving score but has no impact on the safety score. When you hover the cursor over each of the table headers, a pop up box will appear, containing details of how this particular score is calculated. Reducing the time spent stationary with the engine running will improve this indicator. 5% = Score 10 5% of the total journey duration was spent idling. 20% = Score 5 20% of the total journey duration was spent idling. 35% = Score 0 35% of the total journey duration was spent idling. 4 Driver Behaviour How to configure the RED/AMBER/GREEN (RAG) grading system Click on the Administration Tab From the Sub menu, select DRIVER BEHAVIOUR. The following screen will be displayed: Enter your chosen parameters in the relevant fields on the left to increase or decrease the threshold that determines the score for each harsh driving event. The corresponding green buttons on the right will change to match the newly added parameter. The numbers you decide upon will determine what scores constitute a RED, AMBER or GREEN grade = RED = AMBER = GREEN RED AMBER GREEN PAGE 4

5 Driver Behaviour Click on any of the driver names to access specific driver behaviour details for that driver. Regular debriefs of the 5-10% worst offenders is an effective way to improve bad driving habits. You can use this table to highlight which particular harsh driving events need the most improvement for each driver. PAGE 5

6 Driver Behaviour Click on the + icon next to Journey by Journey to view more detailed driver behaviour information. The information in this table is broken down and displayed in a day by day/journey by journey format. PAGE 6

7 Driver Behaviour Scroll further down the screen to reveal how your chosen driver scores against the group and company averages for each of the individual harsh driving events. The final two graphs below display the driver s group and company ranking for each of the individual harsh driving events. PAGE 7

8 Fuel Consumption Receiving and acting on accurate information on fuel consumption is key to managing your fuel costs, improving your duty of care and controlling your vehicle emissions. Our sophisticated web-based reporting system allows you to monitor fuel performance by driver across user-defined date ranges. Select ALL drivers or a specific DRIVER GROUP or a SINGLE DRIVER. Select the date range you wish to view. You can VIEW, PRINT or EXPORT the currently displayed information. PAGE 8

9 Table Columns Explained Driver This column displays the driver s name. Vehicle This column displays the registration that is associated to the vehicle the driver has used. If a Driver uses multiple vehicles equipped with CANbus technology in a period, multiple rows of driving data are shown, one for every vehicle. MPG Rating This column rates the MPG figure against the manufactures combined figure. A driver gets Green rating if his consumption is better than manufacturer s figure, Red if it is 20% worse and Amber if it is in between Green and Red values. MPG - Actual This is calculated using (CANbus) mileage divided by (CANbus) fuel used by the driver across the chosen time period, for each vehicle the driver used. MPG - Manufacturers Recommendations (MFR) This is taken from manufacturer s figures, held in a global Masternaut setup file. These figures are not configurable. Fuel (Litres) FUEL - Actual This is CANbus information on the fuel used for the driver over the chosen time period, calculated for each vehicle the driver used. CO2 (kg) CO2 is calculated from actual fuel used and converted into a CO2 output figure. Distance This is CANbus information on the distance travelled by the driver over the chosen period, calculated for each vehicle the driver used. Stops This is a count of every journey made within the chosen time frame, i.e engine start to stop. Cost The cost is an assumed figure; it is calculated by multiplying a fixed cost per mile by the distance travelled. (This figure is entered in Greenerfleet s Administration section. e.g. 120 miles x 100 pence = 120 PAGE 9

10 Table Columns Explained Speeding The speeding score is based on the number of speeding incidents and distance travelled. The calculation is percentage over the speed limit, multiplied by the total minutes over the speed limit, divided by total distance travelled in km and multiplied by A speeding episode is calculated by comparing the instant speed of the vehicle with the maximum permitted road speed. A speeding incident starts when the vehicle speed exceeds the road speed limit and ends when either the road speed changes or the vehicle speed drops back within the road speed limit i.e. travelling at 80mph for 8 minutes is counted as 1 speeding episode. Driving time This is CANbus information on the driving duration over the chosen time period, calculated for each vehicle the driver used. Idling time This is CANbus information on the duration of engine idling for each driver over the chosen time period, calculated for each vehicle the driver used. You can toggle the information in each column by clicking on the Up/Down arrows. This enables you to quickly and easily display the information in alphabetical order (for the Driver/ Vehicle columns) or in performance order for the remaining columns, ie: BEST to WORST/WORST TO BEST.
