2 Saleslifter ProTM Guide to Operations 75 On the Finance screen there is a Pull Down box at the top center portion of the screen. This Pull Down is where you choose what type of deal this is going to be: Finance, Cash, Balloon, Lease, Buy Here/Pay Here, or Manual. You can choose the order in which these items are in on the pull down and which is to be the default every time you enter the Finance Screen, this is done in Utilities, Preferences. See that section of the manual for further direction on how to set this up.

3 Saleslifter ProTM Guide to Operations 76 BHPH Deal 1. Use the Pull Down arrow and select Buy Here/Pay Here Deal 2. If you already have a vehicle pulled up on the Inventory Screen, the Adjusted MSRP will be in the Selling Price field. If not, or if it is different then key in the Selling Price 3. Sales Tax is calculated for you based on your settings in Utilities, Preferences 4. Plate Fee and Title Fee can both be setup for a default amount or you can key in the proper amounts. 5. Key in any Other Taxable dollars that may apply to this deal. You can use the Calculator Icon to show how the dollar amount breaks down. 6. Key in any other Non-Taxable Dollars that may apply, again you can use the calculator to show the breakdown. 7. Key in the amount of the Service Contract if one was sold. 8. Trade Allowance is where you put the dollar amount you ve shown the Customer for their Trade-In(s). What you key in here will show up in Trade 1 on the Trade-in screen. 9. Key in the Lien Amount if there is still money owed on the Trade-In(s) What You key in here will show up in Trade 1 on the Trade-in screen. 10. If there is additional Down Payment you can key it in or use the Calculator for the breakdown. 11. Life Insurance Use the pull down menu to choose a type of Credit Life Insurance or None. You can setup this to default to a specific insurance in Utilities, Preferences. 12. A + H Insurance Use the pull down menu to choose a type of A&H Insurance. You can setup this to default to a specific insurance in Utilities, Preferences. 13. Balance to Finance Will be automatically shown 14. Interest Rate Key in the Interest Rate for this deal. 15. Frequency Use the pull down menu to choose the payment frequency (Weekly, Monthly, Bi-Weekly, Semi-Monthly). 16. Days to 1 st Payment Either accept the default or key in a different number 17. # of Payments Enter the total number of payments for the contract length Factors - This area will change specific deal factors (Date & Taxes) for this deal only. They return back to defaults when you re done with this deal. 1. Deal Date This allows you to use the pull down arrow and choose a Deal Date if other than the current date. 2. Deal State Allows you to choose a different state if you need to calculate taxes for other states as well as your own. For example if you are located in a bordering area between states and need to collect taxes for either one. 3. Tax Rate You can manually change the tax percentage rate with this field 4. Special Rate % - You can enter a special rate percentage if necessary for county taxes etc

4 Saleslifter ProTM Guide to Operations Taxable Deal Allows you to specify if this is a taxable deal or not. 6. Trade Tax Calculation You can choose a method for tax on trade in(s) Gross calculates tax based on the gross of the sale Difference calculates tax based on the difference between the sale and the trade This section of the manual only deals with the Finance Screen specifically for doing a Buy Here / Pay Here deal. For further instruction for entering other information (ex. Customer info, trade in info etc ) please refer to the sections of the manual dedicated to these topics. Searching and Browsing for BHPH Deals 1. To view BHPH deal information click on the Browse button in the upper right portion of the Customer Screen. To pull up a specific deal just double click on it. You can use the top Radio Buttons to click on the specific selections you wish to see on the screen. In this example we have chosen to see all BHPH deals in the system. A Manager security setting allows you to see all the information stored in the database. A User security setting allows you to see only that particular Users stored information. Once you ve setup the Radio Buttons and are looking at the information you want on the Browse Screen you have the option to Print this page as a report by clicking on the Print Button at the bottom of the Browse Screen. You can Sort this browse list in Ascending or Descending order simply by clicking on a particular columns header. The first click will display Ascending and a second click will display Descending. You can change the columns width by placing your mouse over the vertical lines between the columns then click the left mouse button down and hold it. Then drag the line either to the left or the right. BHPH customers who are current on their payments are displayed in Black and the BHPH customers who are currently late on paying are displayed in Red.

5 Saleslifter ProTM Guide to Operations 78 Quick View Customers Currently Late on Payment(s) While on the Customer Browser as shown on the previous page choose the Radio Button at the top that is for Past Due This will display on the screen customers who currently have late payments due. You can sort this browser buy any of the columns by clicking on a column header once for ascending and twice for descending. Recording a Payment There are two ways to enter the area where you can record payments for BHPH customers. If you are in Saleslifter Pro click on the BHPH button in Blue at the top of the Customer screen. If you have a dedicated cashier, the BHPH module can be run Stand Alone by creating an icon on the Cashiers desktop that links to a file in the Saleslifter Pro Directory called: BhPhStandalone.exe The Cashier screen can record payments but does not have the ability to edit payments received and cannot access several of the more sensitive areas for reporting etc

6 Saleslifter ProTM Guide to Operations 79 Once you have clicked on the BHPH button, the BHPH screen will appear. To choose a customer to record a payment for, click on the People Picker icon to the left of the Notes button at the top of the screen and you ll be presented with a browse list of existing BHPH customers. To select one simply double click the mouse on an individual or you can single click the mouse, then click the OK button and the record will be loaded.

7 Saleslifter ProTM Guide to Operations 80 In this example we have pulled up a BHPH customer who is currently late on their payment and has a late fee due with their payment. The top line shows the current amount the customer has due. To the right shows the Earliest payment that is due so you can see just how late the customer is. The second line shows the amount that is past due. The third shows the late fee that your dealership charges. The setups for BHPH late fee can be found in the Utilities portion of this manual If there are any Bounced Check fees they would show on line 4 and the setups for this can be found in the Utilities portion of this manual. Then the Total Due is displayed in Blue You can now begin entering the payment details If the customer is paying the full amount via a single payment type then key in the full dollar amount due in the proper field. If the customer wants to spread the amount due over various payment types you can key in the proper dollar amounts in the proper fields. If the remaining total is to go a single payment type you can click on the equals sign next to that field and the remaining due will be automatically placed into that field. Once the payment types have been entered click on the red Apply button to apply the payment to the customers account. The Payoff Balance is always displayed at the bottom in Blue along with the number of payments remaining.

8 Saleslifter ProTM Guide to Operations 81 After the Apply button is clicked Saleslifter Pro give you the option to print a Customer Receipt for the payment received. Below is an example of the printed receipt. The Receipt is designed to print 3 copies on a single sheet of paper. You can keep a hard copy and give the customer a copy and use the 3 rd however you like. You can purchase paper that is perforated Adding Notes to a BHPH Customer You must have the customer record up on the BHPH screen then click on the Notes button in the upper right. This will open to the right the Notes area. Key in the note you wish to add then click on the Add Note button. Your note will be added below. Saleslifter Pro automatically puts the most current Note at the top and automatically formats the Date the note was entered.

9 Saleslifter ProTM Guide to Operations 82 Adding an Address or other Contact Info for a BHPH Customer You must have the customer record up on the BHPH screen then click on the Add Address link above the customers Name and Address in the upper left. The current customer information will be displayed and you can overwrite any of this information with the new current information. This will not affect any of the information stored with the delivered deal. It only affects the current contact information within the BHPH portion of Saleslifter Pro. When you are finished entering the new information you can click on the Save button at the bottom. If you change your mind you can click on the Cancel button. Looking up Address and Contact Info History for a BHPH Customer Saleslifter Pro will keep track of a BHPH customers address and contact history. This is in the event the customer defaults on their payments and you need to start to track the customer down for payment or repossession. Click on Customer then Browse and choose the Pay Here radio button at the top. Find the BHPH customer you wish to see address history for and Right click your mouse on that customer. Then click on Address and Phone History. This will display a window like the one shown here on the right. You can choose to preview before printing or click on Make Report button to print it.

10 Saleslifter ProTM Guide to Operations 83 The most current address information is always displayed at the top. The information gets older as you go down the report. The Address and Phone History report looks like this. Editing Payments (Bounced Checks and Clearing Payments) Saleslifter Pro gives you the ability to Edit Payments that a customer has already made. For example if a check bounces you need the ability to reverse that payment and possibly add a bounced check fee. You may also have the need to clear a payment all together. You must have the customer record up on the BHPH screen then click on the Edit Payments link at the bottom of the BHPH screen. This will show you a detailed view of all the payments that customer has made. If the customer has bounced a check then click one time on the payment line that had the bounced check to highlight it in blue, then click on the Bounced Check Button.

11 Saleslifter ProTM Guide to Operations 84 After you click on the Bounced Check button you can enter the Bounced Check fee you want to charge the customer, then click OK. If you want to clear a payment all together that a customer has already made then click one time on the payment to highlight it in blue then click on the Clear Payment button. You will get a verification screen where you have a chance to verify the Clear or you can click on No if you ve changed your mind.

12 Saleslifter ProTM Guide to Operations 85 There are several reporting features within the BHPH screen you can do on individual customers. They are shown in Blue at the bottom of the BHPH screen. You must have an individual customer record loaded on the screen to have these features available. Payment Schedule As with many of the reports you can choose to Preview before printing. For BHPH deals that are weekly payments the payment schedule report may take a lot of paper. Make sure you have an ample paper supply when you print this report. Payments Received The Payments Received report will show you a total payment history for an individual BHPH customer. You can preview before printing.

13 Saleslifter ProTM Guide to Operations 86 Payment Coupon Book Saleslifter Pro gives you the ability to print an entire Payment Coupon Book for your customers use. When you print a Payment Coupon Book for your BHPH customers make sure you have ample paper available. The Payment Coupons print 3 to a page. Office Supply stores carry paper that is perforated in 2 places. You can use regular paper or perforated paper. Saleslifter Pro prints the lines on the paper so you can use blank paper if you wish and the customer can cut on the line. Cash Income Report The Cash Income Report should be done at the end of each day to use as reconciliation for the money you ve taken in that day. It shows the various payment methods for each customer you ve taken money in for that day as well as totals for each payment type. You can use this report to balance the Cash Drawer your employees and/or the cashier use. Of the various reports at the bottom of the BHPH screen, this Cash Income Report is the only report available for the Cashier when running BHPH in Stand-Alone Cashier mode. This locks the cashier out of editing customer payments and other sensitive areas that management may not want the cashier to access.

14 Saleslifter ProTM Guide to Operations 87 General Buy Here / Pay Here Reports Reports are available under the Print drop down box within Saleslifter Pro. Click on Print, then come down to Buy Here / Pay Here and the available BHPH reports are shown. There are three reports that are only available when a BHPH customer Deal is pulled up on the Customer Screen, They are: Address & Phone History Payment Coupons Payment Schedule These are customer specific so you will need to pull up the BHPH customer on the customer screen in order to access these reports. The reports available all the time are: Customer Payments Received Collections Cash Income Report The Cash Income Report is the same as the Cash Income Report described on the previous page. The Customer Payments Received report will give you a detailed report of all payments you have received to day. You can also choose a date range for this report.

15 Saleslifter ProTM Guide to Operations 88 Collections Report The Collections Report will give you detailed information about all customers who are late on one or more payments. It will show you the past due amounts and how much past due the payments are. You will also see the customers name and up to three contact phone numbers. You can preview this report on the screen before printing if you wish.
