4 In 2015 DB Long-Distance Service started operating new double deck trainsets under the brand name IC2. The trains consist of four double deck coaches, one double deck cab control car and a BR electric locomotive in a matching color scheme. The new trainsets are mainly used for long distance trains on west-east lines and in northwest Germany. Current plans will have the new IC2 trainsets also operate in southwest Germany on the Karlsruhe-Stuttgart-Nuremberg and Stuttgart-Zurich lines starting with the timet-able change in December The DB AG is planning to take delivery of a total of 120 double deck trainsets as part of the long distance train initiative The TRAXX2 electric locomotives are an evolution of the TRAXX series of locomotives. This makes it one of the most frequently encountered electric locomotives on the German rail network. The locomotives were primarily used to replace the DB BR 140. The company provides consulting services to train operators and refurbishes passenger cars among other things. In the past some of these cars were used by NationalExpress. This has come to an end and they are now rented out to other railroads. Accordingly all National Express logos have been removed from the cars. Currently TRI logos are added to the cars as a permanent solution. In the future the cars will operate in various parts of Germany in this new design.
