2 H0-vacuum cleaner car For all H0-track with analog or digital operating systems AC~ Art.-No DC Art.-No Trix-Express Art.-No Made in Germany The H0-vacuum cleaner car will effectively remove: dust and dirt particles off the track left behind from circulating air or landscape construction You will achieve: reliable layout operation improved conductivity from the rails and center rail where applicable trouble free running The mobile and fully functional LUX vacuum cleaner car for all H0- track and control systems was developed to remove loose dust and dirt particles over the complete track layout. Experience shows that these small deposits left behind after landscape construction or simple dust accumulation from circulating air (especially with forced air heating systems) are the main reason intermittent operation or worse, brake down of precision parts (gear box, stanchions, bearings, electric pick-ups etc.). Even the smallest spots on the rail head can lead to power interruptions and can cause significant operational disruptions. The innovative and reliable cleaning system of the LUX vacuum cleaner car is built into a boxcar.this enables the car to reach areas on the layout that are especially difficult to get to otherwise, such as tunnels, hidden stations and track equipped with overhead wire (catenary), thereby assuring proper cleaning. This result in longer operating times of all model railroad vehicles between regular maintenance. Even though the vacuum cleaner car is powered directly from the rails, it is not designed to drive itself. It must be towed or pushed by any suitable locomotive. The boxcar is equipped with close-coupling kinematic and NEM coupler shafts, which also accepts the popular Kaddee couplers. Power pick-up is on all axles and it comes with a very robust coreless motor (made in Germany by Faulhaber¹), built for long life. The innovative control electronics (SSF-09) react to vehicle movements (start-stop automation). The motor of the vacuum cleaner car starts up automatically as soon as the car starts moving (pulled or pushed by an engine), provided the track is powered up. The motor stops again when the car comes to a full stop (i.e. at a "red signal). It can be operated on analog or digital controlled layouts. Art.-No.8840

3 A brush (see picture 1) to help remove dirt is fixed to the frame of the boxcar and can be replaced if needed. The mounting has been carefully selected to ensure optimal effectiveness of the brush at the top of the ties. It removes minute dirt particles from the ties and rails, which in turn will be vacuumed off by the vacuum nozzle that follows. The dirt is collected in a specially designed compartment (see picture 2) that allows the air to exit through a micro filter at the top. We also offer a scrap metal collector Fe1 (Art.-No. 8828) which can be added to the H0-vacuum cleaner car. It collects all kinds of loose metal parts from your track (nails, screws, shavings etc.). Technical details: The car is constructed according to the standards of the European Model Railways Association (NEM) and is protected by a patent. The H0-vacuum cleaner car can also be operated by standard half wave or pulse-width controlled power packs. The operating voltage is between 0-24 V (AC/DC) the max. motor voltage 5 volt DC. The current draw is approx 200 ma. The coupler shaft is according to NEM 362 specifications, weight approx 140 grams (0.31 lbs), height over rail head 54 mm (2.13 inch), length over bumper 185 mm (7.28 inch), width 39 mm (1.54 inch). 2-rail versions can be equipped with RP-25 wheel sets on special request. Even minute dirt particles on the rail head can lead to

4 major problems in operation. Due to the innovative and reliable cleaning system in a boxcar you can clean even otherwise inaccessible areas on your layout such as tunnels, hidden stations and track equipped with overhead wire. The operating time of all your rolling stock will be increased considerably and reliable conductivity from the rails, center rail and overhead wire is ensured. The cleaning car gets powered by the rail but is not self-propelled. It is typically pulled by a locomotive but can also be pushed if necessary. The boxcar is equipped with close-coupling kinematic and NEM coupler shafts, which also accept the popular Kaddee couplers. Power pick-up is on all axles and the cleaning mechanism is equipped with a very robust coreless motor (made in Germany by Faulhaber¹), built for long life. The innovative control electronics (SSF-09) react to vehicle movements (start-stop automation). The motor stops again when the car comes to a full stop (i.e. at a "red signal). It can be operated on analog and digital controlled layouts. A built-in rechargeable battery keeps the cleaning motor going even when track power is lost; a feature many competitor models lack. This ensures that the track cleaning continues even when track power is lost on dirty sections of track. The batteries are recharged whenever power is on the track. An adjustment screw is provided to set the high-speed rotating cleaning roller to the proper height, lightly touching the rails and the center rail or overhead wire if required (see picture 3). The drive unit (see picture 3 + 4) is mounted off center inside the boxcar and can optimally react to changes in track height. The predominantly soft polishing material lightly wraps around the rail head and thereby cleaning the highly critical, difficult to reach, inside of the rail head and center rail. The cleaning unit can be rotated by 180 for overhead wire cleaning. A soft adjustable spring, included with the cleaning car, keeps the right pressure on the wire (see picture 5). 5 available and should be used exclusively for catenary cleaning. Various cleaning rollers with different cleaning materials are available for track or overhead wire cleaning (see picture 6). It comes from the factory equipped with a polishing rollerart.-no (see picture 6 + 7). It is good for approximately operating hours (depending on dirt accumulation). We also offer a scrap metal collector Fe2 (Art.-No. 9028) which can be added to the H0-track cleaner car. It collects all kinds of loose metal parts from your track (nails, screws, shavings etc.) (see picture 12). MLR-1 center rail cleaner Available as an add-on to the H0-track cleaning car, or as a separate vehicle for center rail cleaning only. MLR-1 Art.-No Made in Germany We also offer a center stud cleaning system to effectively remove dirt and oxidation from center studs of Märklin¹ M, K and C track and Trix-Express mid-point. The unit can be switched with the normal track cleaning mechanism. The bogie mounted oscillating polishing unit is driven by a coreless motor (made in Germany by Faulhaber¹). The specially designed polishing system never loses contact with the center studs, automatically adjusting to track radius and especially changes in center stud height at switches and crossings (see pictures 8/9/10/11). 7 therefore you achieve clean wheels of engines and all rolling stock oil free traction tires reliable operation of all model railroad vehicles The track and cleaning pads of the unit are supplied with track power (analog or digital) and can therefore be driven over it. The H0-wheel cleaning unit removes dirt and oil residues from wheels of all model railroad vehicles. The unit is equally suited for engines or other rolling stock and can be integrated into the layout. Complete trains can run across it. In place of the regular track, two brass rods covered with polishing material are oscillating while a train is passing over them, cleaning not just the driving wheels of an engine but all wheels of a complete train. The brass rods are driven by a 12 Volt DC coreless motor (made in Germany by Faulhaber¹). The 250 mm (9.84 ) long polishing rods are long enough to clean even large diameter wheels, either dry or with cleaning fluid. Due to the oscillating movement of the cleaning rods, the initially standing engine sinks by its own weight into the felt pad. Setting the throttle to a low speed, the wheels of the standing engine will start to turn. Non-driven wheels (e.g. wagon wheels) will be cleaned while rolling across the oscillating polishing material, either pushed/pulled by hand or by a locomotive. The time consuming manual wheel cleaning chore is no longer necessary. The wheels of your engines and rolling stock remain clean, which results in optimal power transfer between the rails and wheels. The cleaning unit can be equipped with a system compatible decoder (later upgrade is possible) for DCC operation. Depending on the kind and amount of dirt, the cleaning rods can be outfitted with either selfadhesive felt pads or very fine emery cloth. The emery cloth pads (Art.-No. 9308) should not be used on wheels equipped with traction tires. The felt strips may be soaked with grease dissolving fluid for particularly stubborn dirt. If the cleaning pads need to be changed, simply lift the brass rods (Art.-No.9302) from the unit, peel off the old pads and replace them with new selfadhesive ones. The coreless motor (made in Art.-No Art.-No Art.-No Germany by Faulhaber¹) requires regulated DC power from 0 to 12 Volts. The power can be taken from regular model railway controllers (please observe the technical instruction of the controller). AC~ power packs can also be used in conjunction with the optionally available adapter board (Art.-No. 9304), which converts AC~ current into DC= current. If DCC is used on your layout, use a loco decoder with high frequency drive to control the motor. We will factory install the appropriate decoder upon request (surcharge where applicable). Please specify when ordering. The cleaning area is the same in the layout and table-top version. The layout version must be installed and connected to the layout, while the table-top version is delivered as a "ready to run unit. The layout version should be installed in an easily accessible location, possibly in a branch line of the layout. Cut a rectangular opening in the track bed with the following measurements: length 300 mm (11.81 inch), width 40 mm (1.57 inch), depth 55 mm (2.17 inch) from the top of the rail. 8 European Model Railways Association's standards (NEM) and is protected by a patent. The driving motor must not be supplied with half-wave or pulse-width controlled current. Voltage 0-12 VDC, current draw approx 150 ma, max voltage at the operating motor 12 V DC. The drive unit guarantees longevity. The travel range is adequately dimensioned and guarantees optimal pressure of the point rails. The end switches can easily be adjusted even after installation. The lantern actuator can be delivered for left or right mounting. The lifelike illuminated lantern (assembly kit) is available for left hand or right hand mounting as well as for standard or curved turnouts. The motorized switch machines can be controlled by DCC decoders from all known suppliers. Installation is made easy with our drilling template.
