PRESENTATION ON HYDRAULIC BASED COMPONENT 1.HYDRAULIC CRANE 2.HYDRAULIC LIFT 3.HYDRAULIC ACCUMULATOR 4.HYDRAULIC INTENSIFIER 5.JET PUMP PRESENTED BY: GAURAV SHARMA
HYDRAULIC CRANE The hydraulic crane is used for transferring or raising heavy loads. It can be used up to loads 2500 kn. It is widely used in loading and unloading ship, warehouses, workshop, heavy industries and dock sidings
CONSTRUCTION
WORKING During the lifting the load by crane, the high pressure water is admitted into the fixed cylinder of jigger. The pressuriesed water forces the sliding ram to move right with movable pulley bock.
WORKING So that the distance between two pulley blocks increases Which causes the wire passing over the guide pulley is pulled by the jigger and hence the load attached to hook is lifted.
HYDRAULIC LIFT
WHAT IS HYDRAULIC LIFT? Hydraulic lift is a device used for carrying passenger or goods from one floor to another in multi- storied building to raise heavy objects. WORKING PRINCIPLE Pascal's law is a principle in fluid mechanics that states that pressure exerted anywhere in a confined incompressible fluid is transmitted equally in all directions throughout the fluid such that the pressure variations (initial differences) remain the same. This law is applied to lifts.
APPLICATIONS OF HYDRAULIC LIFTS: 1.WHEEL CHAIR LIFT 2.TRUCK TRAILOR 3.MATERIAL HANDLING 4.INDUSTRIAL HYDRAULLIC APPLICATION
HYDRAULIC ACCUMULATOR A hydraulic accumulator is a pressure storage reservoir in which a noncompressible hydraulic fluid is held under pressure by an external source. The external source can be a spring, a raised weight, or a compressed gas.
INTRODUCTION A Hydraulic Accumulator is energy storage device. The external source used can be a spring, a raised weight, or a compressed gas. The main reasons that an accumulator is used in a hydraulic system, is that the pump doesn t need to be so large to cope with extremes of demand and supply circuit can respond quickly to any temporary demand and to smooth pulsation.
TYPES OF HYDRAULIC ACCUMULATOR 1. Tower type accumulator 2.Raised weight accumulator
3.Spring type accumulator 4.Compressed air accumulator/ hydro- pneumatic accumulator
HYDARULIC SYMBOLS
APPLICATIONS Accumulators are devices used to store fluid power to do the following: Agricultural Machinery & Equipment. Forestry Equipment. Oil Field & Offshore. Machine Tools and Off- Road Equipment. Mining Machinery & Equipment. Construction Equipment. Suspension in vehicles.
HYDRAULIC INTENSIFIER It is a device used for producing high pressure liquid by using the energy of larger amount of liquid at low pressure.
TYPES OF INTENSIFIER 1.Single acting intensifier: As it supplies high pressure liquid during downward stroke only. 2.Double acting intensifier: It gives continuous supply of high pressure liquid.
APPLICATION It is required in hydraulic machines such as hydraulic presses which requires fluid at high pressure. And the pump cannot provide high pressure fluid therefore a hydraulic intensifier is placed in between the pump and machine which would supply high pressure fluid. Air operated hydraulic intensifier are commonly used for clamping, holding, punching, presses, jacks etc.
JET PUMP Jet pump is used to transfer momentum from a high velocity primary stream to a secondary stream that gets entrained. It is packaged with the advantage of geometrical simplicity without any moving parts. A jet pump essentially comprises a nozzle and a diffuser assembly.
The pressure energy of water converted into kinetic energy and accordingly the pressure gets reduced. Water and air have been used as fluids in the primary and secondary streams respectively. Nozzle profiles selected is conical. The mean diameter of nozzles are kept to be 4mm and 6mm. A stream of high pressure water from delivery pipe of the pump or from an independent supply reservoir is allowed to flow through the nozzle section. APPLICATION 1.in marine applications, jet pumps are used to transfer seawater. 2.In home applications, they are used to move wastewater up to the sewer line.

Introduction Pneumatic technology deals with the study of behavior and applications of compressed air in our daily life in general and manufacturing automation in particular. Pneumatic systems use air as the medium which is abundantly available and can be exhausted into the atmosphere after completion of the assigned task.
