5 AT /2011 Page 3of SUBJECT OF THIS APPROVAL The subject of this ITB s Technical Approval are Magnum and Astore PP compression fittings for PE pipes manufactured by FIP Formatura Iniezione Polimeri, Pian di Parata, Casella (GE), Italy and A.V.F. Astore Valves and Fittings s.r.l., Via Tangoni 26, Casarza Ligure (GE), with Marley Polska Sp. z o.o. of Warsaw as their authorised representative for the area of Poland. Mangum fittings have black body and blue nut while Astore couplings have black body and black nut. The fittings covered by this approval are presented in Figs The compression fittings consist of polypropylene (PP) body, polypropylene (PP) nut, acetal copolymer (POM) clinching ring, elastomer (NBR) O-ring and aluminium reinforcing ring used in female threaded ends. The fitting is secured on the pipe by tightening the nut on the body thread and compressing the sealing ring seating in the coupling end on the pipe end. The required technical parameters of Magnum and Astore compression fittings covered by this Approval are given in Sec PURPOSE, RANGE AND CONDITIONS OF APPLICATION The Magnum and Astore compression fittings are designated to be used on water piping under working pressure of p r < 16 bar and working temperature of water of t r < 20 C for 16 do 63 mm diameters and working pressure of p r < 10 bar and working temperature of t r < 20 C for 75 to 110 mm diameters. The compression fittings may also be used with working temperatures in the range of 20 C < t r < 40 C, subject to reduction of the working pressure according to PN-EN :2004. In any case the maximum working temperature of water t r must not be higher than 40 C. The Magnum and Astore compression fittings are designated for connecting polyethylene pipes conforming to PN-EN :2004 and polyethylene pipes with threaded metal pipes or fittings and valves with threaded ends. The design of piping and installation of fittings should conform to PN-EN 806-2:2005 and the manual supplied by the Manufacturer. According to the Food Hygiene Certificate No. HK/W/0013/01/2008 issued by the National Institute for Hygiene of Warsaw, the compression fittings covered by this Approval conform to the hygienic requirements and may be used in potable water systems.

7 AT /2011 Page 1of TECHNICAL PARAMETERS, REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials and raw materials The products covered by this Approval should be produced from virgin grade raw materials supplied in original factory packaging. The raw material should be supplied as hard granules of regular shape and uniform colour. The granules must be free of agglomeration, inclusions and contamination. Granules should be supplied in packaging or containers ensuring protection against weather factors and moisture. The quality of raw materials should be confirmed by the declarations of conformity issued by the manufacturer and accompanying each delivery. The materials for production of compression fittings are given in Table No. 1. Polypropylene for production of fittings shall conform to the requirements given in Table No. 2. 9 AT /2011 Page 3of Effect on the quality of water According to the Food Hygiene Certificate No. HK/W/0013/01/2008 issued by the National Institute for Hygiene of Warsaw, the Magnum and Astore compression fittings covered by this Approval may be used in potable water systems Labelling The Magnum and Astore compression fittings should be labelled with the following information on their bodies, as a minimum: - manufacturer identification MAGNUM or ASTORE - identification of material PP - allowable working pressure for example PN 16 - nominal size for example DN PACKING, STORAGE AND TRANSPORT Magnum and Astore compression fittings should be packaged in plastic film or collectively in cardboard shipping boxes. Each bulk shipping box should have a label attached thereon containing at least the following information: - product name, - manufacturer s name and address, - number of pieces and nominal size, - Technical Approval No. ITB AT /2011, - B construction material symbol, - Ref. No. and date of the national declaration of conformity. Construction material mark "B" should be applied in compliance with the ordinance of the Minister of Infrastructure of 11 th Aug on the method of declaring the conformity of construction materials and application of construction material mark "B" (Dz. U. issue No. 198/2004, item No. 2041, as amended). Magnum and Astore compression fittings should be stored complete with all parts in original packaging. During storage the products should be protected against action of sunlight. The Magnum and Astore compression fittings should be transported in cardboard shipping boxes to ensure protection against mechanical damage.

10 AT /2011 Page 4of EVALUATION OF CONFORMITY 5.1. General principles According to Art. 4, Art. 5 Subart. 1, paragraph 3 and Art. 8 Subart. 1 of the law of 16 th April 2004 on construction products (Dz.U. issue No. 92/2004, item No. 881, as amended) the product covered by this Technical Approval may be sold and used in construction works in applications defined by their performance and intended use and provided that the manufacturer has carried out evaluation of conformity, issued national declaration of conformity with the Technical Approval No. ITB AT /2011 and applied construction material mark B on the product, in conformity with the applicable codes. As stipulated in the Ordinance of the Minister of Infrastructure of 11 th Aug on declaration of conformity of construction materials and marking them with construction material mark "B" (Dz.U. issue No. 198/2004, item. No. 2041, as amended) the evaluation of conformity of Magnum and Astore compression fittings with the Technical Approval No. AT /2011 shall be carried out by the manufacturer or its authorised representative having its registered seat in Poland according to evaluation system No. 4. The conformity evaluation system No. 4 allows the manufacturer to issue national declaration of conformity with the Technical Approval No. ITP AT /2011 on the basis of: - initial type testing carried out or commissioned by the manufacturer, - factory production control (FPC), The provisions of the ruling of the Minister of Health dated 29 th March 2007 on the quality requirements for potable water (Dz.U. issue No. 61/2007, item No. 417) shall be complied with until it is superseded by the EC regulation on the properties of materials in contact with potable water Initial type tests The initial type tests are carried out to validate the performance parameters of the product before it is authorised for sale. The initial type testing of compression fittings shall cover: a) dimensions, b) resistance to long-term internal pressure, c) tightness of pipe/fitting joint under internal pressure, d) tightness of pipe/ fitting joint under internal negative pressure, e) resistance to pull out from compression fitting f) tightness of joint under internal pressure with simultaneous bending. The tests which were carried out to define the performance properties under the approval procedure shall be used as initial type tests for the purposes of conformity evaluation.

Factory Production Control AT /2011 Page 5of 35 The Factory Production Control shall cover: 1. specification and verification of materials and raw-materials, 2. control and testing during production and testing of finished products (Sec. 5.4) carried out by the Manufacturer according to the established test plan and the rules and procedures defined by the FCP manual, as appropriate to the production process and aiming at obtaining of the specified properties. The purpose of factory production control is to ensure that the products conform to the requirements of the ITB Technical Approval No. AT /2011. The results of factory production control shall be recorded on regular basis. The records should confirm that the products meet the conformity evaluation criteria. The respective products or lots and the related production detail must enable full identification and recovery. 5.4 Testing of finished products Testing program The testing program comprises of: a) regular tests b) periodic tests Regular tests The regular tests shall cover: a) dimensions, b) appearance and colour, c) resistance to pull out from compression fitting, d) tightness of pipe/ fitting joint under internal negative pressure, e) tightness of pipe/ fitting joint under internal pressure Periodic tests The periodic tests shall cover: a) resistance to long-term internal pressure b) tightness of pipe/ fitting joint under internal pressure with simultaneous bending Frequency of testing The regular tests should be carried out according to the established test plan and not lest than once for each lot of products. The lot size should be specified in the FPC manual. Periodic tests should be carried out at least once a year Test methods The testing should be carried out using the methods listed in Table No. 3.

12 AT /2011 Page 6of Obtaining of samples for testing The samples should be taken randomly according to PN-83/N Evaluation of test results The products are considered to be in conformity with the requirements of this ITB Technical Approval only if they passed all the tests. 6. FORMAL/ LEGAL PROVISIONS 6.1 This ITB Technical Approval supersedes the approval issued by COBRTI INSTAL No. AT/ This ITB Technical Approval No. AT /2011 has been issued to authorise use of Mangum and Astore compression fittings in construction applications to the extent defined by the provisions hereof. According to Art. 4, Art. 5 Subart. 1, paragraph 3 and Art. 8 Subart. 1 of the law of 16th April 2004 on construction products (Dz.U. issue No. 92/2004, item No. 881, as amended) the product covered by this Technical Approval may be sold and used in construction works in applications defined by their performance and intended use and provided that the manufacturer has carried out evaluation of conformity, issued national declaration of conformity with the Technical Approval No. ITB AT /2011 and applied construction material mark B on the product, in conformity with the applicable codes. 6.3 The ITB Technical Approval does not waive the rights under the industrial property codes and in particular the announcement of the Speaker of the Polish Parliament of 13 th June 2003 giving the consolidated text of the law of 30 th June Industrial Property Right (Dz.U. issue No. 119, item No. 1117). These rights must be observed by users of this ITB Technical Approval. 6.4 By issuing this Technical Approval ITB does not assume responsibility for any infringement on exclusive and acquired property rights. 6.5 This ITB Technical Approval does not release the manufacturers from responsibility for the quality of their products and installers from responsibility for appropriate application and quality of installation work.

13 AT /2011 Page 7of The marketing brochures, announcements and any other documents related to sale and use in construction applications of Magnum and Astore compression fittings should include reference to this ITB Technical Approval No. AT / EXPIRY DATE This ITB Technical Approval No. AT /2011 is valid until 13 th Dec The validity of this ITB Technical approval may be extended for the subsequent periods if the Applicant or its formal successor submitted a relevant request at ITB not later than 3 months before the expiry date.
