3 INITIAL STEPS We have been asked to carry a high level energy audit to the lighting and Guarantee the savings The sq. footage of all the buildings is The average burning hours is 6500 based on Public areas being on 24 7 The per kw electricity cost is 0.08 We have allowed for PIR to be fitted in offices toilets and plant rooms controlled at 20 min. This % savings will need to be agreed with client We have recommended that in stairs and corridors that we use PIR Daylight and dimming controls down to 20% when areas are not occupied This % savings will need to be agreed with client We have agreed to submit a menu of energy saving fittings and data sheets these will be sign off before any work has started but can be added to during the project ENERGY Energy Existing Lighting only kw 10,951,401 Energy After Lighting only kw 5,362,095 Savings Lighting only kw 5,589,

5 LUMINAIRES T12 AND T8 SWITCH START FITTINGS The majority of your T8 fittings are the older switch start type These are mixed with a scattering of T12 fittings Our suggestion is that we replace the fittings on a point for point basis using TL-5 Eco lamp fittings We will use a suitable size and wattage to replace the luminaire allowing for good lighting and significant energy savings T5 FITTINGS Where efficient T5 luminaires are in place, we will clean and relamp using the latest TL-5 Eco lamps from Philips Lighting This offers slightly improved lumen output at all ambient temperatures Will also provide a reduction in consumption in the order of around 10%. LUMINAIRES T8 TROUGH LIGHTING Where you have continuous trough lighting, we will replace the contents changing from T8 Switch start to TL-5 Eco lamps by means of conversion of gear trays and lamp holders GLS INCANDESCENT LIGHTING Where GLS lamps are fitted, we will change these to high power low wattage Light emitting diodes (LED) This can be done without detriment to light levels with Philips Master LED bulbs offering 80% energy saving and 25 x longer lifetime. 2D LAMPS Where fluorescent 2D lamps are fitted, we will replace the lamp only using the energy efficient Wattmiser version from GE Lighting New products like LED will be considered for this project but the will need be signed off by Addenbrooke s and achieve the targeted energy savings and be fit for purpose 5

6 LUMINAIRES EMERGENCY LIGHTING We have allowed a provision for emergency lighting as most of the emergency lighting is integral to the units being replaced PRESENCE DETECTION We have allowed a provision for Passive Infrared sensors (PIRs) Will be fitted to lighting to switch off when the area is left unoccupied for more than a few minutes These will be carefully considered and will only be fitted where it is safe and practical so to do DAYLIGHT HARVESTING Fitted with daylight and dimming control to be fitted to stairs and corridors areas so that when unoccupied lights dim to 20% of initial output.
