4 Coordination activities Although the team cover almost all the capacities for the project development with the expertise and facilities increasing of the working effort is desirable. Activities in order to enhance the power of the team are in the way by the own projects of the members in development concerning HTS Materials (FP7 EUROTAPES) High current cables and enabling technologies for high flux HTS magnets (EUROFUSION, WPMAG) High Performance Computing of HTS (FP7 FORTISSIMO) Large and non standard shaped Coils (HTS Generator, National co-funded Industrial contract) COST Development and benchmarking of methods for the design of superconducting power devices (Proposal) 4

5 Activities: Diffusion workshops Futured Workshop for project proposals about energy storage in the grid, Madrid January 16th EXCO coordination meeting of JP ES, Madrid Juny 1rst Publications GIA (Cross-Platform Storage Group) report for Energy Storage: finished and pending of English translation Chapter 6, Magnetic Storage or Electromagnetic Storage depending of the version 5

6 Projects and Synergies The Joint Program work in two basic lines (pending of approval) Large SMES working with LH2 (LQHYSMES) Parallel to the development of LH2 network Low cost and large Power- Hybrid technology Customer sized Storage Platform (0.5-1MW range SMES-Batteries storage platform) Very Robust, high power overload, and long durance. 6
