Quotes from Ring Power dated May 16, 2016 BACKGROUND: The Environmental Protection Agency passed legislation to require the exhaust of standby generators to meet national emissions standards. As such, both the standby generators at the Water Plant and Wastewater Plant require retrofitting to meet the new standard. The work was completed on the Water Plant generator in fiscal year This request will complete the work on the Wastewater Plant generator. The generator was manufactured by Caterpillar. The sole manufacturer authorized repair faci lity in the Tampa Bay area is Ring Power of Riverview, FL. Brian Antonian, Wastewater Division Plant Supervisor, obtained a quote from Ring Power to supply all materials, labor and equipment to complete the modifications to the existing generator, inclusive of a rental of a generator for use during the period the work is to be completed. The quoted cost to complete the work is $67,731. The existing generator will be offline for one week in order to complete these modifications.

2 As previously stated, funds for this work are budgeted in the Water and Sewer Utility Fund (Acct. # ). The Project Number is Staff is requesting the City Commission award a single source contract to Ring Power. I concur with this request.

Ring Power will remove existing exhaust piping and place the new Catalyst in line after the existing silencer. We will also be using flange pieces and new piping to make the connections, The mounting and bracing will be done off the side of the building and mount in place were the existing exhaust piping is on the building. This will include new bolts and new gaskets. There will be some on site welding that will have to be done in order to make the connections. Ring Power will also have to use a lift to lift the catalyst in place and the piping. Ring Power will be using a boom truck and a man lift to perform this work, we will be supplying all of the lifting equipment. Ring Power will also install the monitoring system and controller in place. This System uses the existing 24 volt generator system to run. This includes all wiring and all connections also mounting of the controller. Once all equipment is installed Ring Power will perform 3 separate one hour test To certify that the generators meet the new Rice Neshap rules. This test is done by hooking up a load bank and running the generator at full load for 3 separate hou s. Once that test is complete Ring Power will provide the test results to the customer so the customer can provide for the EPA. All Equipment comes with a 2 year warranty that is backed by Cat. Labor/warranty for installation is 6 months from completion of job. Quote includes lift and rigging. Quote is per generator.
