5 Studies and plans from the 1980 s until the 2000 s The plan of commuter train network between Tampere and neighbouring towns. The plan of street based tramway system from western parts of city to the city centre and onwards to Hervanta in the south.

14 Main safety features Pedestrian safety: smooth shape in the front part covered windshield vipers minimal gap between the rail and end buffer bogie covers emergency lifting considered in various areas of the network Special user groups: contrast colors on doors, floor, stanchions and seats several places for wheel chairs, prams, bikes, etc. with fixing points dedicated places for the visually impaired and guide dogs minimal gap between the platform and car at stops, stepless access delay function in doors for disabled and prams
