In these suggestions, Council has taken a large number of issues such as import of used DG sets, import of samples, double weightage to SSI/Tiny/Cottage, status holder privileges, Focus Market Scheme, FPS and Special FPS. We hope Government will look into our suggestions for incorporation in the Foreign Trade Policy. 3 Council s Activities IMPORTANT NOTICE POSTPONEMENT OF BIET 2012 FROM 20 FEB-3 MARCH TO 5-8 APRIL 2012 You are aware that EEPC India had issued circular to organize an India Pavilion in BIET 2012 which was scheduled to be held at Dhaka, Bangladesh during 29 February to March 3, 2012 under MDA scheme. However, we are informed by the organizer of BIET that they have been requested to postpone the event due to an emergent request from Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the venue. It may be noted that the MDA eligibility would be in the financial year EEPC India Invites Participation for India Pavilion in BIET 2012, Dhaka, Bangladesh (5-8 April, 2012) BIET 2012 (Bangladesh International Industrial Engineering Tradeshow and Symposium) is the 3rd International Tradeshow & Symposium for the engineering and industrial industry. The show is jointly organized by ASK Trade & Exhibitions, India and Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association (BEIOA), which is an apex body of Engineering Industry and Entrepreneurs of Bangladesh. The 2nd edition of the exhibition organized in the year 2011 had over 100 exhibitors and over 8,500 business visitors. BIET 2012 has a concurrent show SOLAR POWER Expo which is an important component under the renewable energy sector of the country. It aims to act as a catalyst in exposure of emerging technologies, adaptation of innovative concepts and technical expertise. Engineering sector especially light engineering plays a crucial role in the growth of Bangladesh economy. Light engineering sector comprising mainly of SMEs acts as a feeder to key national industries and plays a vital role in the socio-economic development of the country. 15 EEPC India Invites Participation in India Pavilion at SIMTOS 2012, KINTEX, Korea (17-22 April, 2012) Seoul International Manufacturing Technology Show (SIMTOS) is a leading show on manufacturing technology and machine tools in Korea and is organized by Korea Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (KOMMA). SIMTOS 2012 is scheduled during April 17 to 22, 2012 at Kintex, Korea. Korea ranks 5th in the world in machine tool production with significant volume of exports as well as imports. Its bilateral partners include, inter alia, China, USA, Germany, Japan, Italy, India, Russia, Turkey & Vietnam. SIMTOS 2010 was successfully held with 459 companies from 27 countries and more than 70,000 visitors.
