NL 60 Cora Lawrence NL 60- Comment noted. This page has been intentionally left blank NL 60- As discussed in Chapter 3 of the 003 Draft SEIS, the station and alignment is not expected to worsen traffic congestion. The project is intended to provide an alternative to sitting in traffic. NL 60-3 A transit system in exclusive right-of-way is needed in this area to avoid delays from congestion. This will enable bus routes to be redeployed to serve underserved areas and provide access to light rail. NL 60-4 (ST) Please refer to common comment PP-. The University of Washington is a large employer, serves a large population of students, and includes a medical center, which is also a large employer. Ridership forecasts for the year 030 estimate daily boardings at light rail stations in the University District ranging from 0,500 to 35,500 boardings per day. Section.3 of the 003 Draft SEIS, states that the purpose of this project is to construct and operate an electric light rail system connecting the region s major activity centers, which includes the University District. NL 60-5 (ST) Sound Transit has considered public input. As described in detail in Appendix B, Public Involvement, included in Volume of the Draft North Link SEIS, Sound Transit conducted an extensive public outreach process prior to and during the SEIS process. NL 60-6 Sound Transit notes your satisfaction with the current bus service. The University District is an area of high ridership between Northgate and Downtown that will benefit from an additional public transportation option. NL 60-7 Your opinion that North Link along the 45th Street corridor is not needed is noted. 66

NL 6 Valerie Tarico NL 6- Sound Transit appreciates your comment stating that North Link will make the Seattle area a better place to live, and that it will balance the transportation needs of many. 66

NL 6 Gini Paulsen NL 6- Your opposition to light rail serving King County has been noted. Please see Section 4.9 of the 003 Draft SEIS, which discusses how light rail will reduce the project area s overall energy consumption and reduce air pollutant emissions. NL 6- (ST) Please review Chapter 5 of the SEIS for discussion on the project financial plans, risks and uncertainties, and next steps to be taken. 663

NL 63 Robert D. Wilkinson NL 63- (ST) Comment noted. Please see response to common comment BB-9. This page has been intentionally left blank NL 63- Your suggestion, and justifications for your suggestion, of moving the University of Washington/Montlake Station further south has been noted. The station siting considered a range of engineering and environmental issues, including depth of the tunnel beneath Montlake cut. NL 63-3 Comment noted. Ridership is in Section 3..3 of the 003 Draft SEIS, the Transportation Technical Report, and has been updated in this Final SEIS. NL 63-4 Your suggestion for mixed-use facilities (i.e., stations that also serve as coffee shops, convenience stores etc.) has been noted. Sound Transit is considering such opportunities during Final design. Please see response to common comment BB-9. NL 63-5 Comment noted. 665

NL 64 Eric Schreiber NL 64- Sound Transit notes your preference the Modified Montlake Route. NL 64- Please see responses to common comments BB- and BB-. NL 65- Your preference for the Modified Montlake Route has been noted. 667
