3 Light & Battery Removal 1. Unpack replacement items from rearm kit- The rearm kit consists of 10 cable ties, a new light and battery, and a battery retaining clip. Lay the pylon out deflated on a flat, clean surface. 2. Trim current battery retaining clip- Using a pair of diagonal cutters, carefully trim the tabs of the retaining clip to free the expired battery from the pylon. 3

4 3. Remove the battery- After the tabs have been cut, lift the battery free from the pylon, and remove the retaining clip. 4. Cut cable ties- Using a pair of diagonal cutters, remove the cable ties securing the wire to the pylon. Avoid cutting the pylon fabric. 4

5 5. Remove the light- Pull the fabric out from the groove in the light to free it from the pylon. 6. Discard expired battery and light- Contact your local municipality or waste disposal company for proper disposal of batteries and electronic components. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) does not regulate the disposal of batteries in small quantities; large quantities are regulated under the Universal rules of Hazardous Waste regulations (40 CFR PART 273). Lithium batteries are not currently being collected by manufacturers for recycling. Lithium batteries are currently disposed of after their use. While there are no federal regulations for disposal of lithium batteries, individual states or localities can establish their own guidelines for battery disposal, and should be contacted for any disposal guidelines that they may have. 5

6 Re-Arm 1. Install new battery- Insert the retaining clip into the cut outs in the pylon inflator cover fabric. Then, firmly push the new battery onto the tabs. The wire and light of the battery should be facing towards the top of the pylon. Ensure the battery is fully seated on the new retaining clip. 2. Install cable ties- Secure the cable ties through the cut outs in the fabric of the pylon, and secure the wire inside the loop. Tighten the cable ties until snug. 6

7 3. Attach light to the top of the pylon- Fold the hole at the top of the pylon over and pull the material into the groove of the light. Do this for both sides of the fabric. 4. Trim cable ties- Using diagonal cutters, trim the excess tail from the cable ties as close as possible to the head of the tie, and ensure there are no sharp edges. 7

8 IMPORTANT! 5. Turn light to automatic- Push the switch up to the AUTO postion. This will activate the light when the pylon is immersed in water. Pylon light replacement complete The pylon can now be repacked into the valise. Consult your owner s manual or for detailed instructions on repacking and servicing your MOM 8-S. 8
