2 INSTALLATION Customer Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by do-it-yourselfers. Without Moonroof CONNECTORS 1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. 2. If equipped, remove the roof console. Using a plastic trim tool, pry out and remove the left and right lenses (four retaining tabs each). Open the sunglass holder. Remove four screws. Remove the roof console (unplug the vehicle connectors). ROOF CONSOLE With Moonroof CONNECTORS SUNGLASS HOLDER (Open.) 4 SCREWS RIGHT LENS LEFT LENS 4 RETAINING TABS 4 RETAINING TABS QB20902AX 3. Remove the two sunvisor holders by rotating them 45 counterclockwise. ROOF CONSOLE SUNGLASS HOLDER (Open.) 3 4. Remove the rearview mirror cover (two retaining tabs). REARVIEW COVER PLASTIC TRIM TOOL 6. Wrap the end of a flat-tip screwdriver with electrical tape. Locate the slot in the bracket cover, and insert the flat-tip screwdriver into the slot. Push the hook with the screwdriver. FLAT-TIP SCREWDRIVER BRACKET COVER REARVIEW (Discard.) 2 RETAINING TABS ELECTRICAL TAPE SUNVISOR HOOK HOOK (Hold down.) MOUNT QB52501AB Make sure the hook slides into the bracket cover. 5. While holding down the hook, remove the rearview mirror from the mirror mount. Push the hook. While pushing in on the hook, rotate the sunvisor backward about 45. QB32101BX 7. While pushing in on the hook, rotate the driver s sunvisor backward about 45. Make sure the hook slides into the bracket cover. NOTE: If the hook did not stay pushed in, return the driver s sunvisor to its original position and repeat steps 6 and American Honda Motor Co., Inc. All Rights Reserved. AII (1208) 3 of 13

4 8. Remove the driver s sunvisor (unplug the vehicle connector, if equipped). CONNECTOR (if equipped) 11. Insert a shop towel in the opening between the driver s A-pillar trim and the dashboard to prevent losing the A-pillar clips. Take care not to damage the driver s A-pillar trim. A-PILLAR A-PILLAR TRIM SUNVISOR QB20904AX 9. Pull away the driver s door opening seal in the area shown. Pull the clip. SHOP TOWEL QB20906AX 12. Slide the driver s A-pillar trim up to remove it from the upper clip. Carefully remove the shop towel and any clips that fell from the driver s A-pillar trim. NOTE: The upper clip will stay in the body. UPPER A-PILLAR TRIM DOOR OPENING SEAL (Pull away.) 2 S QB20905AX 10. Pull out on the driver s A-pillar trim to release the clips. 5 13. Remove the remaining upper clip from the driver s A-pillar. 15. If equipped, remove the driver s dashboard under cover (turn the knob and release the two clips). 2 TABS (Push.) 2 S UPPER (Discard.) QB20908AX 14. Install the new clip (supplied) to the driver s A-pillar trim, but do not reinstall the trim at this time. DASHBOARD UNDER COVER KNOB (Turn.) QB20201AB (supplied) 16. Remove the driver s dashboard lower cover (nine clips and unplug the vehicle connectors, if equipped). 6 17. Pull away the door opening seal from around the dashboard. 4-Door: Two retaining tabs and four clips. HOOK 4 S 4 S 2 RETAINING TABS DASHBOARD SIDE COVER DOOR SILL TRIM DOOR OPENING SEAL (Pull away.) 2 BOLTS QB20909BX QB20804AB 18. Remove the driver s dashboard side cover (two bolts, four clips, and one hook). 19. Remove the cover (six retaining tabs). NOTE: Make sure the trunk lid/fuel fill door opener is unlocked. 2-Door: Two retaining tabs and six clips. 6 S 2 RETAINING TABS SELF-TAPPING SCREW KEY Unlock. 6 RETAINING TABS COVER DOOR SILL TRIM TRUNK LID/FUEL FILL DOOR OPENER QB32102AX DOOR SILL TRIM QB20803AB 20. 7 22. Pull away the door opening seal, and remove the driver s kick panel (two clips). 24. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, thoroughly clean the fuse case where the fuse label will attach. DOOR OPENING SEAL (Pull away.) Clean with isopropyl alcohol. 2 S KICK PANEL QB20805AB 2A FUSE LABEL FUSE CASE B 23. Install the automatic day/night mirror on the mirror mount as shown, and tighten the TORX screw. T20 TORX SCREW N m ( lbf ft) 25. Attach the 2A fuse label to the fuse case on the automatic day/night mirror harness. 26. Plug the automatic day/night mirror harness 8-pin connector into the fuse box 8-pin connector. If another accessory harness is already plugged into the fuse box, unplug it and plug in the automatic day/night mirror harness. FUSE BOX MOUNT DAY/ NIGHT QB20910AX Plug in here. 8 Remove the dummy connector from the automatic day/night mirror harness and plug the other accessory 8-pin connector into the automatic day/night mirror harness. DUMMY CONNECTOR (Discard.) 8-PIN 27. Route the automatic day/night mirror harness 7-pin connector out the square hole, and toward the outside of the vehicle as shown. DAY/ NIGHT OTHER ACCESSORY 8-PIN CONNECTOR FUSE BOX FRAME QB20913AX 28. Secure the automatic day/night mirror harness to the vehicle harness with one wire tie as shown. Plug in here. 9 29. Route the automatic day/night mirror harness ground terminal toward the vehicle ground terminal. DAY/ NIGHT 32. Route the automatic day/night mirror harness upward. Secure the automatic day/night mirror harness to the dashboard with one wire tie as shown. EDGE OF URETHANE HOLE Align. SIDE VIEW GROUND TERMINAL GROUND TERMINAL GROUND BOLT QB21002AX WIRE TIE 30. Remove the vehicle ground bolt. Secure the automatic day/night mirror harness ground terminal to the vehicle ground terminal, and reinstall the ground bolt. DAY/ NIGHT DASHBOARD QB21004AX 31. 10 33. Route the automatic day/night mirror harness along the front of the vehicle harness. Align the green tape on the automatic day/night mirror harness with the vehicle clip, and secure the automatic day/night mirror harness to the vehicle harness with one wire tie. 2-Door: GREEN TAPE Align. DAY/ NIGHT PANEL 4-Door: GREEN TAPE Align. DAY/ NIGHT PANEL CROSS SECTION A-PILLAR WIRE TIE CROSS SECTION A-PILLAR WIRE TIE Route to the behind of the vehicle connectors. QB32103AX Route to the front of the vehicle connectors. QB21005BX 34. Route the automatic day/night mirror harness along the driver s A-pillar, and insert it under the headliner as shown. 11 35. While holding the headliner against the roof, secure the automatic day/night mirror harness to the vehicle harness with one wire tie. Make sure the automatic day/night mirror harness is not being stretched. 37. Install the automatic day/night mirror harness into the groove in the harness cover. Secure the harness cover to the mirror stay. Slide the harness cover behind the headliner. EDGE OF HEADLINER EDGE OF URETHANE COVER HEADLINER Align. BOTTOM VIEW STAY Slide. Push up. COVER PANEL QB21009AX WIRE TIE CROSS SECTION QB21007BX 36. Secure the automatic day/night mirror harness to the vehicle harness with two wire ties as shown. 2-Door: 4-Door: WIRE TIES PANEL WIRE TIES PANEL CROSS SECTION CROSS SECTION WIRE TIE WIRE TIE WIRE TIE WIRE TIE SIDE VIEW SIDE VIEW QB32104AX QB21010BX 39. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and all connectors are plugged in. 40. Reinstall all removed parts. 41. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. 42. Press and hold the radio power button for two seconds to restore the radio and navi (if equipped) system functions. 43. Reset the clock on vehicle without navigation. 44. Do the Function Check. 45. 13 FUNCTION CHECK 1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), but do not start the engine. SWITCH (Turn on.) LED AB 2. Turn on the switch. Check that the LED lights. 3. Cover the front sensor on the automatic day/night mirror with your hand, and use a flashlight to light the rear sensor on the automatic day/night mirror. Make sure the mirror surface dims. SURFACE FLASHLIGHT SENSOR (Cover.) REAR SENSOR AB 4. Step on the brake pedal, and move the select lever to the R position. Repeat step 3, and make sure the mirror surface does not dim. Make sure that the parking brake is set securely.
