One major fuel provider had its pumps go down due to flooding just as thousands of New Jersey residents were becoming stranded without available fuel. In addition, a pair of 200hp starters needed to ship fuel on barges were lost to the storm.

On-site, All Current discovered an immediate need to replace four 100hp MCC buckets these units were replaced the next day. In addition, the current carrying components damaged by flooding were also returned to service. Within four days of the storm, the facility was again pumping fuel. The 200hp starters were replaced with NEMA 7 hazardous-location starters and their associated equipment. Unfortunately, as the waters receded, more damage was exposed across the plant s other facility. All Current determined 500+ MCC buckets needed replacing or retrofitting, while 80+ starters, 30 panel boards, and countless disconnects and circuit breakers were damaged beyond repair. Working seven days a week, for nearly two months, All Current was able to supply all that was needed to bring the plant back to pre-sandy condition.

Despite limited space in the control room, the engineer suggested a size 5 MCC bucket upgrade to integrate the soft start into an existing 72 high bucket. A capacitor contactor was also added to the crowded control room upgrade.

The bucket was stripped and powder coated, and the unit installed and re-wired. Upon return to the site, motors were bumped for phase rotation, time delays, overcurrent protection, and overload relays set for operation.
