3 Introduction Design of Experiments (DoE) in Engine Development Methods for vehicle development Internal combustion engines, hybrid drives and electric propulsion are the options available in automotive engineering today. Although technical possibilities mean the drive unit is becoming ever more efficient, development engineering is not made any easier by the diversity of options. Powerful development methods provide a building block on the path to success.
